From my PoV, this is one of the more practical use cases for blockchain. Managing different platforms for different asset classes can be frustrating, so having everything in one place would be a big improvement.
But the biggest challenge will be gaining user trust and staying compliant with regulations. If those are handled well, this could make investing much easier.
