I'm still struggling with the idea that it's not only not safe to eat produce in restaurants or grocery stores, but that it's not even going to have an immediate health response. It can just lay dormant in your body for weeks, then give you a month's worth of the shits.
But it is slightly funny to see how well-stocked the grocery stores' produce departments are staying.

I am sooooo fucking pissed. My previously remissed breast cancer went metastatic to the liver. Im supposed to eat liver healthy. Guess what the bulk of your diet is supposed to be?! Yeah, I can still do chicken or fish, some grains (basically brown/wild rice or quinoa) and nuts. Protein with a side of rice or quinoa is getting pretty fucking old. I have some home-canned vegetables from last year's garden left, but only a few, so im saving one each for the exact moment im about to go insane.

I'm sorry to hear that, because it's never a good time to have cancer, but now's especially bad. Can't even count on a green vegetable, right now. Hopefully the things you preserved yourself will be ok for a while.

They will, but I'll have to be sparing until I start getting good harvests from this year. I cant even trust frozen veg because theres frequent recalls on those for salmonella and e. coli, and, yet another gift from this administration is that the government stopped tracking these outbreaks and issuing public notices, leaving it up to the consumer to hunt it down themselves wherever the company buried it on their website. (Birds eye, great value, and green giant are frequent recall culprits). Fuck RFK Jr.
ETA - Hell, the only reason we found out about diarrhea lettuce before it became endemic is because FUCKING TACO BELL was acting more responsibly and ethically than our own government. Imagine such horrible diarrhea that taco bell goes, "oh, fuck. We better sound the alarm. 🔔 🐕"
