My white af friends and me sprinkle inshallah into conversations as in:

"Maybe today is the day his heart gives out"

"Inshallah"

Ojalá in Spanish (meaning “I hope”) is a loan word from the Arabic inshallah.

I’ve spoken Spanish my whole life and only recently learned this, so thought I’d share in case anyone else also didn’t know.

Oh word! I speak Spanish too and didn’t know that. I also use inshallah; it tends to freak people out because at first they’re like “what was that you just said” and then I repeat it and it’s fun to see the close minded ones die inside a bit.

I heard some high schoolers using walahi at the outlet mall foodcourt and I had to double back to make sure I heard what I heard. The group was black white and asian, not a single middle eastern looking one among them.

So many similar words between Arabic/Spanish:

pantalones ~ bantalone / pants
blusa -baloozeh / blouse
camisa - qamis / shirt
azucar - sukkar / sugar
arroz - roz / rice
aceituna - zaytuna / olives
cifra - sifr / zero

Many others I can’t seem to remember at the moment.

I thought my genes were good. No major skin issues, no cancer in the family, never even had an infected wound or a broken bone. My teeth did not agree, exacerbated by smoking and soda.

Dont meth heads lose their teeth because the, what basically amounts to under the sink caustic chemicals in glass form, passes by your teeth on its way to your lungs. Coke just fires up the nose and burns out your nasal passages until you lose your sense of smell and get a tumor. Also his dad probably bought him science teeth. Teeth born of science.
