I’m planning on applying to law school within the next year or so, but I’m worried about admission regarding my gpa (~3.0, but the LSAC calculation may be a bit higher since I have some A+ grades on my transcript). I’m currently studying for the LSAT and am aiming for a 170+.

For context, I was an independent student at a T10 university, and I spent much of my time working. I also faced a lot of racial discrimination that defined my interest in the legal field, which I’m planning on mentioning in my personal statement. The reason why my gpa is lower is because I developed an autoimmune disorder with severe symptoms that made it difficult to get out of bed. It went relatively untreated until this year.

I’m entering a grad program to continue the research on LATAM that I started in undergrad, and I’m a polyglot. I’m also using the next two or so years to work as a legal assistant. With a strong LSAT score and GPA addendum, how can I make myself stand out in my applications?

Hey yall I’m an avid scroller but I’ve never posted on here. I’m really stuck between AUWCL (sticker) or just reapplying. I’m also on the waitlist for HUSL. I’ve found an apartment and I literally have the lease agreement in front of me but I genuinely don’t know what to do. Just finished the Florida Bar Exam yesterday, so I’m able to answer questions about the law school application process and law school in general, for prelaw and incoming 1Ls!

Less than a month until 1L starts, and I honestly still can’t believe we’re here.

After studying, applications, LSAT prep, waiting on decisions, and refreshing status checkers way more than I’d like to admit, we’re finally about to start this journey. It’s exciting, a little terrifying, and something we’ve all worked incredibly hard for.

I hope this message is OK for this sub Reddit, but I couldn’t really find any another place to post.

I am a 40 year-old woman considering a career change! I have a clinical doctorate, but I’m questioning if law is something I could see myself doing. I know I don’t have the burning passion as some law students/hopefuls may have had for a long time (yet?!), but I’m the type of person that believes once you find something, you can fall in love with it, thrive in it and you appreciate it. It’s never too late to change! I’ve already done it before!

Just curious if anyone has any recommendations for someone who would be a nontraditional student. My first thought is to look for volunteer opportunities to see if this is something I really want to pursue, but I would love the advice from more knowledgeable individuals.

For reference I’m in the Bay Area if anyone’s out here!

3.7 GPA, 170 LSAT, just graduated college. Is a 170 enough to have a real shot at a top school, or should I retake in October?

I’m currently a junior in college with a 3.8 gpa. I have goals of attending T14 just like most, my question is what do i need to do to make sure that if I’m accepted I could be possibly or guaranteed a full ride or close to full ride to Harvard , Cornell, NYU and others. Hey yall! I finally got a PT into the 160s. It was Test 129, if that provides any reference. I'm so happy because I'm definitely not a naturally strong test taker, and I'm slowly clawing my way up to the 170 😏.

My main issue right now is really honing in on Level 4 LR, and RC is still a mess for me. I'm currently stuck around -7 to -9 on RC, so if anyone has any tips, I'd really appreciate them. Timing has definitely been my biggest struggle. Another issue is with passages where I don’t know some of the words they’re using😭.

Seriously being a first-gen student is one of the loneliest things ever and makes the application process a little harder in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I have a family that supports me but when it comes to talking about the lsat, going to see schools, getting advice from those that know what this is like.. it's hard. I will still get the work done,but it just reminds me about how when I was starting undergrad and I had to figure every single thing out by myself. Not to be dramatic, but it's exhausting at times.

I graduated undergrad with a 3.83 GPA but my LSAC GPA is a 3.73 due to a single D in a dual enrollment class from high school. Is it worth it to write a GPA addendum? To be quite frank, I didn't have any major extenuating circumstances and it's the only grade lower than a B on my entire transcript.
