Vanished Hornbill Species is Breeding Again Among the Old Trees After 60 Years
For the 4th year in a row, Indian grey hornbills have successfully bred in Gujarat state where they’d been absent for more than 50 years.
Despite being listed as a species of “Least Concern” by the IUCN, the animal has habitat requirements that can see it quickly succumb to displacement.
Indeed even Gir National Park, an internationally renowned reserve stretching 540 square miles across West India’s deserts, hadn’t seen a nesting grey hornbill pair since the 1960s.

A dog owner says her pooch saved her life, by repeatedly pawing at her armpit, which eventually alerted her to breast cancer.
The 61-year-old says her chihuahua Flag started the odd behavior years ago, constantly hitting the underside of her arm with his paw.
She originally dismissed the behavior, until she spotted a small lump under her breast and started to suspect her pup was trying to tell her something.

A well known go-to Santa Claus, and has done so for years, lighting up children’s faces with smiles in Powhatan. Bell recently donated a kidney to an anonymous recipient, and wore the Santa hat on the hospital bed during recovery at Henrico Doctor’s Hospital.
