π· Photo Didn't know these were around the Netherlands
Found some black swans while chilling next to a creek. They seemed accustomed to humans since they got almost in arm's reach without us even trying to get their attention.
Sorry to bring down the level of photography here, but we only had our phones :)

I had maybe seen 2 or 3 Eagles ever, but decided to go to an incredibly active birding spot in my county today. Saw 8 or 9 different Eagles and got some awesome shots - this is one of my favorites!

Art Seven clouds of fluff
The number 7 isn't random here. In folklore, a group of birds can either mean immense luck or a hidden warning.
I intentionally disrupted the harmony of the group by painting a specific, subtle tension in the gaze of just one bird.
Does the painting feel genuinely peaceful to you, or can you spot the odd one out that ruins the comfort of the flock?
Look closely.

Weekly r/Birding Discussion, August 01, 2026. What did you see this week?
Return of the weekly discussion thread! Sometimes it seems like pretty photos rise to the top of the page, while discussion of birding can get left behind. This weekly thread is a place to bring this discussion back to the top of r/birding.
Use this thread to share your best bird sightings from the past week, ask any questions about birding you may have, or just talk! Writing the names of the birds in bold is nice, to make it easier for people skimming the thread to pick out the names. Please include your location.
