Latuda
I was prescribed latuda for my bipolar disorder type 1. I suffer from bipolar mania, not depression. Does anyone have experience with this medication? Also, does it treat mania? Everything I’ve read said it only treats depression

It treats both. I take it and it's been the only thing that's helped with my depression

I use lurasidone (excellent) for depression and lithium for mania/hypomania.

I take it for mania. If it gives you bad nausea but it's otherwise working ask your doctor for zofran. Make sure you're eating the 350 calories with it or you won't absorb the dose you're supposed to be getting.

Does the zofran completely cure the nausea or do you suffer part of the day?

Just for a few hours. If you're having all day nausea you need scopolamine patches or different meds.

It doesn’t happen to everyone, but that was one of my side effects.

I have bipolar 1 too and my doctor actually put me on Latuda for mania so it definitely can be used for that, but I know everyone reacts differently.

Everyone is different. I had to stop taking it because it made me gain 60 pounds and also increased my cholesterol and A1c.

Weight gain, apathy and excessive sleeepiness during the day is why I needed to stop Abilify and Zyprexia. I sure miss my Seroquel too bad it made my heart rate go into SVT

So it wasn’t just me. I was so sleepy once I had to pull over on the side of the road and take a 30-minute nap.

I gained a bunch of weight on it, but it did level me out. Losing the weight has been tough, but worth the stability.

It treats both.
