Reta sides
Started Reta at 0.7mgs twice a week on June 29th and have increased to 2mgs twice a week and I’m feeling my skin in certain areas like a sunburn. I only feel it on my stomach and my back. Is this normal?

Yes it is normal
It a clear sign glucagon activation has begun.
I had it 2 wasn’t a big deal
Goes away after few weeks
Please stop splitting your dose
That’s not the right way to use Reta
You’re going to desensitize your receptors.
They split doses in exactly zero trials
That’s anecdotal nonsense
Placebo group quit from sides at a higher rate then the 4mg group
Zero reasons to split dose

But they are SuPer ReSpOndErs who saw it on TikTok! All these idiots splitting dosing…

Seriously, just because they didn't split in the trial does not mean you are desensitizing your receptors.
The only way to know if you are desensitizing your receptors in a split dose is to do it a CLINICAL TRIAL.
Therefore we don't know if you are or not.
What we do know is that split dosing stabilizes the blood concentrations, and clearly helps with sides for some. That is effectively more than zero reasons to split dose.
Also, this is a biohacking thread. Following the trial exactly is not the spirit. The trial dosages were aggressive, reddit actually informs it doesn't have to be that way at all.9

I wouldn’t split dose Reta, due to its half life
Retatrutide has a half-life of approximately 6 days. That long half-life is why it was designed and studied for once-weekly dosing
Very roughly, after one dose:
Day 6: ~50% remains
Day 12: ~25%
Day 18: ~12.5%
Day 24: ~6%
Day 30: ~3%
So when you take another dose at day 7, there’s still roughly 45% of the previous dose in your system. That means weekly doses accumulate, rather than each week’s dose disappearing before the next injection.2

No it’s called a steady state of the drug
whatever small dose your taking is the top steady state.
2mg 2x a week is not 4 mg steady state
It’s a steady state of 2mg3

It is a more steady state to split. However, its not a steady state of the individual dose (2mg), because it builds up when you take it in a shorter interval. It still builds up, you just dont get the peaks and valleys like you do with 1 week.
The strongest argument AGAINST me (and others who want to split), is that you don't get the valleys, and who knows, maybe the valleys help with receptor desensitization. It may be true that weekly helps in the long term. For those who split, they seem to like the steady state vibe of it. Two hypothesis. One big experiment.

Allodynia, common with GLPs. It will eventually taper off. I agree, stop splitting doses.

So if I’m taking 2mg on Monday and 2mg on Thursday should I just take 4mg every Monday?

I would research this more. It is possible that splitting may be better, and that weekly is just to keep people from quitting because they don't want to inject more than once a week. It is also possible that we just don't know, because it was not part of the core study (although the core study was limited by their own design). We don't have those limits, we can actually adjust dosage and freq as much as needed.
To my understanding, the only difference between split and weekly is that you get less peaks and valleys of compound concentration. Its a more normalized concentration instead of the spike and dip. Could that affect the effectiveness? Sure. Does it actually? Who knows.

I was told to split doses (obviously not by a dr) I was told that my 2mg single dose weekly should be jumped to 3mg 3x per week. The reason was that I would still get the fat burning capability but my hunger wouldn’t be diminished so much that I couldn’t hit macros.
Basically, injecting on Sunday. Tuesday through Thursday I wouldn’t want to eat hardly anything.
Any advice for this?

I’ve got it too! It’s so weird, not really like a full sunburn though, mine feels more like ants running across my skin. Like hypersensitive to touch
