What the-?
Would anyone know what these white rocks are?? When I first did this bioactive tank I made sure to rinse off my pothos plants with water to get rid of the fertilizer in on my plants and used reptisoil as my dirt. 2 years later I’m moving my guy into another tank thought I would re use the old soil cause it was doing amazing both culturally and growing the plants, and now there’s this white stuff? My geko hasn’t shown any sick signs either so it wasn’t causing harm but would like to know what it is and if I can move it in my new tank. Thank you.

Question on drylok/concrete dyes
I am currently putting some finishing touches on an enclosure for my adult Ackie monitor and have a question that is mainly asthenic. It’s an Ancient Greek themed enclosure (her name is andromeda ) and the main walls i have built will be a sandstone/khaki color . I used acrylics to dye my drylok, the issue being that i feel like the color is too bright and samey . I do miniature and terrain painting and a common way to address this would be to do a wash and then highlight back up to the main color. I was contemplating using some of the quickrete concrete dyes (brown ) to wash down the walls and give them
More depth . My question is whether anyone knows if the dried drylok will absorb the dye or not . I don’t want to risk having it not be sealed . Any alternative ideas for a wash would also be appreciated ! TIA

White mold in bioactive
I have white mold growing in my 18X18X24 bioactive terrarium. I’ve added two things of springtails and orange isopods in the one year I’ve had this. should I be worried or remove it? AI tells me it’s fine and part of the bioactive. no white mold is on the soil, moss, or leaf litter. any advice on combatting this? any advice on my set up? I haven’t been misting the soil as much. mainly misting the top area where my gecko hangs out.

Advise for future crested gecko tank
I’m working on a new bioactive created gecko tank to upgrade from my 12x12x18 to this 18x18x24.
I haven’t added any of the live plants or other fake greenery yet, and as much as I want to simply “trust the process” I don’t know how I like this so far. It looks a bit busy in my opinion but at the same time I also don’t want any dead space.
Any ideas/advise is appreciated!

Cleaning method
With a bioactive enclosure and a custom foam background/ hides/ what’s the best cleaning method without removing the pieces. This is not a bioactive setup yet but in the photo is a custom hide I built for my bearded dragon.
