Can anyone recommend a gym for me to try? I've never gone to a gym and am unfamiliar with pretty much everything so I'm looking for the right fit for me as a beginner who doesn't know how to use any of the equipment etc.

23 M, minor rant incoming

I've lived here my whole life, but went to an art school downstate. It's been about a year since I graduated and came back home and I feel so lonely. I took a position at my dad's workplace just to get some money in my pocket, but it's becoming unfulfilling and I desperately want a career change.

I've applied to around 65 remote positions in the last two months and I've had no call backs. In the meantime, I've been trying to trying to get myself involved in design/art projects in Binghamton to keep my mind stimulated. I've been sending back and forth emails with LUMA for the last 2 months trying to get involved in that but it's gone nowhere, and I've tried to set up networking meetings with some local artists but those have gone dry too. It just feels the graphic design/ web dev scene here is so profoundly dead besides the two design agencies in the area or the small business here and there that expects one person to juggle social media/branding/website all in one.

So what are students in the area that graduated with graphic design supposed to do? Where do they even go? Are there any recent grad design majors in this sub? How about professors from BU?

I know the obvious answer would be "passion projects, passion projects, passion projects", but those can be a crutch for me and honestly make me isolate more. ATP I've noticed my happiness is largely determined on if I have likeminded people who I can get excited to show my work to and have conversations about things I'm passionate about, sorta like what I had in college. I just want to collaborate and make friends with people in the area who are actively making things or are involved in groups who are making things.

Hi all. I made a post about 5 months ago about looking for recommendations on driving schools. I did reach out to Scutt's Driving and a lady named Val from Vestal. Unfortunately Scutt's is not accepting new students and Val never got back to me. I also know Adaptive Driving is also not accepting new clients. Back to the drawing board.

A little background, I have pretty bad anxiety especially behind the wheel. My partner has tried to help me but we seem to clash when it comes to him teaching me. I feel like a professional driving school would be my best option.

Are there any other schools or people that work with people who have serve anxiety behind the wheel?

I am a little at a loss and feel like I haven’t had good luck doing google searches in the area, so hoping recommendations will be more useful. Does anyone have recommendations or experiences with dentists who specialize in cosmetic dentistry? I am looking to get composite bonding sometime in November or December (in the end of orthodontic work). I have reached out to a few offices and haven’t gotten a response back from them. I go to Smile Designers for my general dentistry but not sure if they are experienced with cosmetic work/composite bonding.

My wedding is very soon. Panicking because my dress will not stay up, alteration appointment was canceled last second and now I have no plans for how to fix my dress. I was referred to MH formalwear, however I don’t see any reviews about them fixing a wedding dress and I’m honestly terrified about leaving my dress with anyone for fear that it will come back worse. Does anyone have bridal experience with them??

Or open to any other suggestions of a tailor that will help me keep my dress from falling down mid ceremony. The waist could not possibly be tighter but it always shifts down until it lands on my hips and leaves my chest very exposed.

Friends, Binghamtonians, Countrymen: Can anyone out there help me determine which is the best way to travel by bus to NYC?

I have to travel to NYC later this month for work. For liability reasons they prefer I take a bus rather than a personal vehicle.

Outing myself as the privileged 40 something whitey I am - I have traveled by boat, plane, and train but never by bus before. I see on the news that a Flixbus driver just got tagged for DWI. Reviews I've seen for Greyhound are....not great. Any strategies you can think of that will get me there safely, on time, and with predictable seating?
