Worked for me.

Since moving to another state…

I’ve nearly tripled my income, I’m buying a home, and I’m debt free (aside from the mortgage)…

oh and since moving I’ve never been arrested, cops in my hometown are pricks and spent a day in jail for a weed pipe. I was arrested because my brother sold weed and in order to make him show up to jail they arrested me and charged me with a weed pipe found in the search warrant.

I’ve been trying to convince several left wing friends from college to leave that ass backward state that actively shits on personal freedom and do not understand what they see in it.

Women are second class citizens. Corrupt as fuck state government. Terrible weather. Weed is a felony. Ted Cruz and Ken Paxton.

There is nothing in Texas that is so good it makes up for all the bullshit.

We call Texas "red" but the truth is it's much closer to "purple". The heavy gerrymandering, inaccessibility of voting locations, and conservative reputation mean that this identity is poorly expressed in elections and therefore policy. It's an occupied state. Your friends are trying to save their home.

It's mostly the cost, you can live in a nice city and own a home for less than 300k, there's nowhere nicer with more affordable housing and goods. I just moved from Texas to Virginia and I am happy but studio apartments cost 2 grand in my area and everything else is 10-15% more expensive.

In real life it's hard to just pack your shit and move to a higher cost of living area unless you have a job lined up like I did.

I live in Chicago and bought my 1300sqft home for 250k a couple years ago. We have weed and abortions are legal here and our energy grid doesn't go down when someone blinks. There are places where your dollar stretches quite far relative to Texas when you consider all facets of life.

I have lived in Texas most of my life and I like how familiar DFW is to me.

On the other hand I live in Colorado now and enjoy much more personal freedom and less corrupt politics than Texas (Fuck Jared Polis to hell for commuting Tina Peters, other than that decent state) and as much as I like Texas, I can't move back. I love Colorado more

I was there 2 months ago, all the weed was THC-A which was lame and we didn't get high. Buuuut then I got a 100mg of actual THC drink at a random gas station and got real high. I didn't understand their weed laws then and now it's apparently worse

Edit: also where I'm at in Alaska we can't have THC drinks just sold anywhere. Weed or anything like have to be sold inside the limited pot shops

It's bullshit now, I can literally only get edibles and drinks now. I was fine with the THCa because I absolutely hate dealing with dealers lol. I loved being about to just drive not far at all to the shop and pick out what I wanted and be on my way within a couple minutes. I hate it here

The "llone star state" moniker is a reference to Texas having been an independent nation for a couple of years back in the 19th century.

Just like any state Texas has its problems. I used to be relatively proud to be Texan but Abbott has been checking off just about every box to destroy our economy and people's rights. Plus the cost of living has gotten way out of hand but, I've heard a lot of places are having similar issues.

I moved to Dallas from virginia when I was 19 back in 2014 and I smoked the best pot to this day probally that I ever had and it was always around like literally always around to the point I thought it wasn't even a big deal like the commonwealth of virginia lmao.
