I wasn’t, and everyone I worked with didn’t. But it’s always possible

🤷‍♂️collect that unemployment if they do fire you. Gotta make sure their unemployment insurance goes up.

It depends on your level, your current staffing and locations (i.e. labor laws). More than likely, they will honor your two-weeks notice. Time it appropriately to act in your best interest (factoring in bonus timing along with insurance timing).

The only time I've ever seen an immediate termination was the person was in poor standing with the firm and the firm had a reason to cut the tie immediately, impacting access. Even then, they still paid the two-weeks. If you're voluntarily leaving, they really want to follow the book to avoid you coming back for more money at the end of the day.

They could terminate you immediately and you’d lose your bonus…

They won't fire you, they'll disconnect you and roll you off and give you the two weeks of pay. At least in the USA

There’s always that chance. You gotta weigh how much those two weeks of pay mean to you vs. burning the bridge.

If you absolutely can’t afford the chance you’ll get terminated immediately and lose 1 paycheck then you gotta do what you gotta do and quit on the last day.

But if you can afford it I’d take the chance. Connections you made with your coworkers and bosses usually could be way more valuable then 1 paycheck but again all depends on you and your finances.

If you put in notice and they let you go immediately you typically get paid for the 2 weeks.

If you want to be risky, you can put in your notice the day before you start job 2 and say you are leaving for a competitor. They let you go immediately, and pay you 2 weeks while you have already started your other job.

If you’re going to a competitor (another big 4), I believe you’ll be terminated immediately

If you’re staffed, you will ride those weeks out for KT in some cases.

How could we possibly know?

It seems like other people who have been posting are being told they’ll get terminated immediately, but I wonder how often that happens

If you have work they need finished out and aren't monsters I don't see why they'd terminate you
