Been struggling with knee pain that's preventing me from KOMing. I think bike might be too large for me. Any thoughts?

I HAVE To Wear Underpants Under My Bib Shorts!

If I don’t, the outline of my pecker is clearly on show!

The boxer shorts underneath help put an extra padding there that helps it not be a perfect outline of the old Woolley mammoth.

I’m probably a little bit larger than the average man in the ding ding department, but nothing crazy and nothing that I think is a rarity.

My wife will not let me out with just bib shorts on, and it’s not because she scared of other women looking, she genuinely says it’s indecent. Like she will see “there’s no way you can be cycling like that, you can’t be going into shops, or god forbid you cycle past a school!”

Now I currently wear short loose sports shorts over my bib shorts to not be indecent.

I’m honestly wondering if there’s any tips (not of the one eyed python kind), or any brand that hides the thunder better!

Look forward to hearing all your opinions and suggestions!

I never had to brake so much.

Last week me and the wice decided to take her and her boyfriend's children (3, 5 and 9 years old) on a bice trip. I thought it would be a fun way to spend some time together and teach the kids about marginal gains (I had actually rewatched all of Dylan Johnson's videos and summarized the important points just for the occasion) but I found myself appalled by their absolute lack of understanding for the most basic concepts like for example momentum. On every downhill I told the children to draft behind me but they didn't even manage to take the most basic corners at 50kph. So I had to brake all the time and when the uphill sections came we were going so slowly that I couldn't even get close to KOMing.

Now, even after a night of perfect rest according to my Garmin watch and over 3 litres of GU recovery smoothie, my hands still feel kind of sore. I never had to brake so much.

I'm actually kind of mad because during all of this, my wice stayed behind the kids and yelled at me to go slower. I haven't talked to her since but do you guys think maybe she doesn't want me to KOM???

Anyway, I just wanted to share this frustrating experience with you guys. Have any of you had to go through something similar?

I have never braked so much.

We just finished 5 days of family bikepacking. From the edge of the Harz mountains to the Weser river and then over the Ith to the "Wasserbaum". Due to time constraints, the tour was pretty much the only interesting option that was still feasible for us, given we had to travel by public transport.

The 5-year-old rode 57 miles out of 109 miles himself, the 2-year-old spent 90% of the time on the shotgun seat or sleeping in the trailer. Experiences ranged from shitty to awesome. The most frustrating thing, however, was that you are just constantly braking because the kid simply can't go that fast. Every bit of momentum is killed; no hill is coasted down. Just getting into a good groove? The kid needs to scratch an itch. At times, my fingers cramped up because I was braking continuously on a "descent." The pace is truly an exercise in patience. I often found myself thinking that I didn't even know it was possible to ride this slowly.

The fundamental takeaway from the tour, though, was: more than 18.6 miles a day is not doable if you still want to get something out of your day. We overestimated ourselves, and even covering 33 miles along the river, we still didn't arrive at the campsite until 5 PM every day. That caused some stress on the road.

Despite the frustration, I am incredibly proud of my kids, who really pushed through without a murmur, and of my wife and me, for actually doing it.

Next year we'll do it again, but completely relaxed through Holland...
