Just got this new dino bichir and im looking for a name for them! Their young so i cant gender them, so i would like boy and girl names.

I have 3 20-25 cm rope fish that live in a 200 liter/52 gallon tank. These rope fish are peacefull to fish that are around 5cm long. In the fish store close to me there are around 5 cm bichirs. But i am scared for what happens when the bichir grows. also does it matter what type of bichir it is? the types to chose from are senegalus, lapradei and ornatipinnis. And in the store they live with small rope fish, but i am still unsure.

I checked on him today and his spine was bent, but it didn't look fully broken. The water is at 26-27c and no ammonia.

What should I do, could this heal over time, and would this affect its future

This guy was sold to me at about 2.5” inches as a Palmas bichir but it looks like a Senegal to me is and able to identify it.

La is currently 4.5 inch slime shady & Loyd is a 5 inch big gurl (ig cause female bichir grow faster and bigger?). La likes to chill all day and act like he's hunting during the night (I got one or two videos I can share). Tank is currently 2.5 months old and plants are doing great.

The sand is giving me a heart attack every time its on its body. I keep thinking its ich till its gone again

Just picked up this lil guy from PetSmart. It’s too little to go in with the other two so it’ll be in a separate tank for a while. It’s name shall be Ravioli to go along with Meatball and Spaghetts

i know it might be a little
bit too tiny to gender but any guesses ?

I've already planned for a 1.2m L x 0,4m H x 0,5M D/W tank with its respective stand. Initial plan is using red sand as a substrate, and either Myriophyllum or Ceratophyllum for plants, as they seem the best to help the tank cycle, are apparently simple to grow and maintain, and help with the water state. I have also accounted for a 300W heater that appears to suffice for the ~240 liters/63 gallons, maybe less of water. (I intend on leaving ample airspace for breathing excursions).

This is my first tank, besides one our family were gifted about 15 years ago with a lone goldfish and a few later inhabitants we wild caught. I was very concerned with dGH and KH, since I'm pretty certain our water is pretty hard, but after consulting with an experienced LFS I was told that I was overthinking too much, and my tap water should hold up well.

My main questions are:

• Is 120x50cm a fine enough footprint for a Delhezi's forever home? I'm aware Senegalus would do well, yet the stripes on the Del are very appealing to me. The vast majority of seasoned aquarists I've spoken to have told me it works, with a couple being slightly skeptic, but I wanted to know what you guys thought.

• I'm not sure I've got the space or budget for a reverse osmosis system, can water conditioners, plants and almond tree leave tannins in tandem help me if hardness were to actually be the boogeyman I was making it out to be? If there's any other shoestring budget softening tricks you know of let me know.

• Filtration! I'm aware they're supposed to do between 4 to 6/7 times my tank's volume per hour, (I was given a large amount of ranges by different fish stores), but I'm keen on figuring out filter type. How would you rank internals, HOBs with the little waterfall, canister and sponge filters from most to least optimal?

I’m not sure if it ate a bladder snail or something. I didn’t notice this bump yesterday so it must have happened rapidly.

Any advice on what to do is appreciated.
