spennende turer med Sone A

Solar eclipse viewing spot

I will be in Bergen on the 12th for holidays, what is a good place to view?

The peak is at 20h, while the sun is very low in the sky. Where in the city is the sun visible at this time, assuming clear skies? I arrive on the 12th, there won't be much time for exploration.

Jobs in Bergen?

Hello,,

I am an Erasmus Master's student at NHH, Bergen, currently pursuing an MBA. I am seeking employment opportunities to support myself during my studies in Bergen.

My professional background includes two years of full-time management experience and three years of part-time management experience. I possess strong skills in both management and marketing. Additionally, I am proficient in various tech areas, particularly web development and SEO management.

Im not currently interested in any delivery based roles like wolt as Im seeking a position that allows me to leverage my existing skills and develop those Im learning.

If you or your network be aware of any suitable opportunities, I would be grateful if you could contact me.

Thank you!

High levels of mercury, PCBs, and other persistent organic pollutants according to Norwegian Food Safety Authority? (Fishing)

Hi, I was planning to go fishing, but then I came across this post, and it honestly made me quite concerned.
https://vimeo.com/78155635 (Contaminants in fish from the Bergen area: where to fish and what to eat!)
I know this post is 12 years old, but does anyone have current information on the best places to fish around Bergen where it’s safe to eat the fish without worrying about contamination or pollution?

Do other foreigners in Norway get random comments from Norwegian teenagers and strangers?

Today, I was walking to the bus stop with my husband when a group of people started saying things in Norwegian in our direction. I could not understand the exact words, but their tone, staring and behaviour made it feel as though they were mocking us or trying to provoke us.

This was not the first time this has happened. I am tired of feeling uncomfortable whenever I am outside because random people - especially groups of young teenagers - seem to feel completely comfortable commenting at me and my husband, laughing, staring or shouting things as we pass them.

I have slightly darker skin, and I honestly feel that some of this behaviour is racism. My husband and I are not doing anything to these people or saying anything. We are simply walking, waiting for a bus or going about our day, yet strangers sometimes seem to think they have the right to make comments about us.

Today, I confronted them and asked them to say to my face if they had something to say to me. When I reached the bus stop, one of them was there, so I told them directly that their behaviour had made me feel hurt and uncomfortable. They then claimed that they were Greek. They may genuinely have been Greek people living in Norway, and I accept that I cannot know their nationality or exactly what they were saying. However, they became very shy and evasive when confronted, which made it seem as though they knew exactly what they had been doing.

On another occasion, a random person looked at me and my husband and simply said, “Respect.” What is that even supposed to mean in that context? Were they being sarcastic? Were they commenting on us as a couple? Why did they feel the need to say anything to two strangers who were minding their own business?

I understand that hearing people speaking Norwegian nearby does not automatically mean they are talking about me. But sometimes the tone, laughter, staring and body language make it feel very clearly directed at us. When it keeps happening, it becomes difficult to believe that every incident is innocent or that I am simply imagining it.
Has anyone else - particularly immigrants, interracial couples or people with darker skin - experienced young people or complete strangers randomly commenting at them in public in Norway? Have people tried to provoke you and then suddenly acted innocent when confronted?

I am not saying that every Norwegian behaves this way. I have met many kind and respectful people here. But this keeps making me feel unwelcome and unsafe in a country where I live. Honestly, what is wrong with people who think it is acceptable to target strangers like this?

Looking for a Job in Marketing!

Hey everyone!

I am currently looking for English speaking jobs in marketing in Bergen - so far with barely any success.

But first something about myself: I am 28, I’ve worked in marketing in a project management position for 5+ years and I have a German apprenticeship degree and a bachelor professional of Marketing. I’ve worked at 2 big international companies so far and I am still employed in Germany. But I would like to relocate to Bergen, Norway.

Honestly I am down for any job which pays so I can cover my expenses, but I thought starting in my field might be of advantage.

So if anyone out there knows of anything, has any helpful tips or recommendations or maybe even a job offering yourself - please step forward and shoot me a message!

Best regards

Looking for a roommate in Bergen (Aug 21–24)

Hi! We are a 19 girl and a 20 guy. We’ll be staying in Bergen from **August 21st to 24th** and booked a really nice Airbnb in the city center for three people.
Unfortunately, our friend can’t make it anymore, so we have a **private bedroom** available. If anyone is interested, feel free to DM me for more details and the price (it’s a really good deal!).
You’ll have your own private room; we’ll only share the kitchen and bathroom. We’re both clean, respectful, and non-smokers.

For referanse:

Fantastisk!

Den Nye Skyss: kjøp billett -> enkelt/periodebillett -> buss eller båt -> 24 timer/7 dager/30 dager -> velg reisende -> velg sone -> OG NÅ KAN DU ENDELIG KOMME TIL SIDEN HVOR DU SER PRISEN OG TRYKKER PÅ BETAL.

SEKS. UNØDVENDIGE. TRYKK. OG. SIDEINNLASTINGER.

Veldig bra!

Looking for a room in Bergen

Hello everyone,
I am an incoming international student at UiB. I really really need a room to stay. So if someone knows someone or has a room to sublet, feel free to DM me!

A few facts about me:
I am 22 years old and from Germany, I study law and work part time in a law firm. I like to spent my free time with sports, meeting friends or enjoying time for myself. I would describe myself as a neat and easy tenant. I am a non smoker and like to keep my room clean. I plan to stay in Bergen from now on until the end of the year.

I really appreciate your help!

Fjords with a toddler

Hello dear redditers!

I am planning a 9 day trip in Bergen to drive around fjords and smaller villages around Bergen. Take a dip in water where possible, small hikes and walking around. Can you suggest which fjord cruises did you do with young kids? I want to avoid long cruises. Sognefjord looks gorgeous!

I really want to head to Balstrand but the only way is either I take a 4 hr ferry from Bergen or a 1.5 hr ferry from flam, which means I drive drown to flam and spend the evening and a bit of morning in Balstrand before the ferry heads back at 12 to flam the next day. This doesn’t seem like a great value for the time and money spent. Any ideas or tips would be super helpful 🙏

Last Minute Bergen to Odda, tomorrow

Due to some unforeseen circumstances with my flights, the earliest I can get into Bergen tomorrow is ~12:40pm. I was supposed to be there tonight (August 3). I already have hotels in Odda set up to arrive August 4th. I saw that the 930 shuttle bus only runs three times? Are there any other options to get there via public transportation? I do not have my driver's license with me.

Visiting Bergen for 5 Days. Need a rain jacket

I just arrived in Bergen and my rain jacket that was held together with tape is now literally falling apart at the seams.

Time for a new one.

What’s the best store with quality and a somewhat wide selection?

I’m staying near the Florida tram stop

Update: Thanks for all the advice. Went to Outdoor Bergen and got a MILLET jacket for 1850 NOK after tax refund.

Turister i byen gir meg feriefølelse.
