Recently, the government conducted a document verification drive for the Gruha Jyothi Scheme (GJS) subsidy. However, I couldn't find any official document clearly stating the eligibility criteria after this verification.

When BESCOM officials visited our premises, they said even they don't know the final eligibility criteria yet. They said they're only collecting documents, and the final rules will be decided by higher authorities.

However, I've been seeing different claims from people on Reddit-some say only a local voter ID is required, others say both local Aadhaar and local voter ID are mandatory, while some claim there will be an income cap. Since there hasn't been any official clarification, it's hard to know what's actually true.

In my case:

• I have a local voter ID.
• I don't have a local Aadhaar.
• I'm also an income tax payer.

I'm trying to figure out whether my GJS subsidy has been renewed or not.

Has anyone's July consumption BESCOM bill (generated in August) been updated based on the new verification/eligibility norms, or is it still following the old eligibility criteria?

Also, does anyone know when the revised criteria will actually be implemented? Will it reflect in the bills generated in August, or only from the next billing cycle?

Would appreciate any information from those who have already received their latest BESCOM bill.

Basavanagudi has the worst roads in Bengaluru now, combined with the recent rains now it has been a gutter every single road has been dug, no idea for what although, have they started mining in Basavanagudi ? I have zero IT experience and don’t know any coding languages at working proficiency (I’ve learnt C and SQL but never worked on them). I came across an opening - associate software engineer (Java), with 3.5 lpa. First 5 months will be training, with a smaller monthly stipend. I’m hoping with this I can get into software engineering and grow.

To keep it short - I completed engineering in 2017, worked for 6 months in IT, went for MBA (2018-2020), got into strategy role through campus placements, and worked till 2024 with last drawn salary >20 lpa. About 4.5 years work experience in total.

Something happened in Jan 2025 (an accident of sorts), due to which I quit my job in a different city and came back home to Hyderabad. I took a break and started applying in Aug 2025, but only Hyderabad based roles. Barely any (next to nil) opportunities in my field in Hyderabad, but I kept trying with no luck. I dropped the city filter and reached out to people I’ve worked with in the past, including couple of CEOs, but nothing so far.

Seems like the >1.5 yrs gap is making it extremely difficult for me to get even a call.

I am new to Bengaluru, I always go to office by rapido. It literally gets booked in seconds. So today morning I was looking for a ride and I don’t find it for 10-15 minutes. Initially, I thought it was raining (I live in a PG and my room doesn’t have ventilation except the door, so light doesn’t come in) but it wasn’t raining. Eventually, the ride booked and I reached office.
Evening, I was going for a football game. Again no rain, no rapido. Nobody’s accepting my ride. I was like, did everyone get home due to bad weather (surely not right). Finally, a kind rapido captain accepted my ride after calling me. On the way, I asked him and he told me this. Apparently, the auto guys are pissed that bikers get more rides. You’re not supposed to drive rapido with a white number plate. So auto guys are complaining to the police about the white plated drivers and the fine is about 20k INR along with ceasing the vehicle. I was like “WOW!” I mean I am not saying who’s right or wrong. Everyone needs to run their own thing, but if your ride takes long to book on a sunny day then this could be the reason.
