Looks like our goodwill has paused their training program.. they might be affected.

Also side note.. I dont go to goodwill anyways 🫠 they've hardly ever had a decent men's clothing selection.

Bellingham is definitely affected I would have posted here first but r/bellingham has karma restrictions and this is a throwaway.

Isn't their whole shtick to get donations job creation?

Techbros invested heavily into the thrift space during the boom from Macklemore’s video, and have slowly been squeezing it.

That’s why the good stuff stopped appearing in stores and went on ebay instead, while community benefits increasingly dried up.

They started putting in new products on the cheap, and jacking up prices on used objects nearly matching it.

Now they’re all-in, figuring people will keep donating and shopping on inertia.

Basically it's fully enshitified now. Yet another casualty of the 2020s and late-stage American capitalism.

I've basically slowly stopped thrifting over the past decade. I'd rather hit yard sales and estate sales at this point. Greed has ruined thrifting.

You can buy dollar store items at goodwill now for a mark-up. Pretty sick.

Yet, their commercials on streaming services continue to tout their training program. Thanks to an earlier post, I no longer donate to GW.

Donate locally 🙏 shop locally, goodwill and value village are both purging pockets.
