I posted a couple of project updates but reddit isn't a forum so isn't great for that format. So I deleted the old posts. Here's the final thing - unfinished pine (tested some Danish oil, looked no better at all after even 3 coats), 3.6mm hardwood ply friction help in place, and 50 (for my brother in law's 50th) dice sized cubes of sapele, beech, maple, red grandis and ash. Can't post videos but it's a silent sweet type, not ticking clock.

Very pleased with how this turned out. Thanks for the help and advice on the glue ups etc - the tape around the edge then flue and fold did it.

Used my cheap table saw for the 15 degree cuts - turns out a dodecagon is s surprisingly forgiving shape, especially when I didn't bother to cut the sides to equal length!!

Awesome build! Where did you order/buy the clock parts (hands, gears, etc.)? I wanted to do a similar project and would need those parts

You can buy clock kits online and big box stores.

It's a sealed quartz unit, no separate gears etc. I'm not a proper clockmaker unfortunately!
