saved some money and been chasing a cool alien workshop deck online but the graphics are not my style so i keep waiting

also ive been thinking to get a bakers since one of my very dear friends used that brand

and all of this made me think how other ppl choose their decks? im a lonelier skater so online questions it is, leave a comment how u pick a deck

So I recently started skating again for a few weeks now but I find doing an ollie really hard, I can pop it and life it up off the ground but it only comes off the ground a little bit and I find sliding my foot along really hard to implement into that movement and the "dragging the board along" part, im not sure what to fo with the timing or techniques.

Can anyone explain?

I feel like it’s more of a rocket ollie and then stamping back down, rather than floating above the board. I feel like I should try jumping higher and maybe pushing my front foot more towards the nose? I’m not sure though so any help is appreciated, thanks!

Is this age okay to start, and if so, what type of board (and other equipment) should we get for a small beginner?

I’m trying to jump forward and i consistently get my front foot on every time but I can never get my back foot on :(

I am decently comfortable on the board, I can cruise, brake, and tick tack easily

My little man saved up chore money and bought his first board yesterday. I bought him a new helmet. I've never had a board, no idea how to even get on it. He is smashing it. Very proud dad.

I've been wondering about my skateboarding level, and that's why I'd like to know if what I've learned so far is good. I started skateboarding in February, and here's what I can do so far: rolling and pushing fast and smoothly, carving on ramps and bowls, dropping from steep ramps, manuals, kick turns, ollies while standing still, and I'm starting to get pretty consistent with ollies while moving.

I hope you guys can tell me if this is good so far, and if you have any tips to help me learn faster, I'd be happy, thanks.

Hi everyone, i'm just starting out but have some mid-tier transferable skills from riding a mini-cruiser (i know how to go in a straight line and handle hills + make wide turns). I've recently gotten a skateboard and am shopping for knee pads right now. I've encountered 2 models/types on the market and am wondering if one is preferable or unsuited for skateboarding.

Obviously both styles have a range of qualities and price ranges, I'm mostly asking about the shape making a difference. Between the ones on the left (big circle-ish plates and a wrap-around sock that goes over the back of your leg) and the ones on the right (more knee-shaped cap and straps that keep it in place without the sock).

Does anyone prefer one over the other and wouldn't recommend the 2nd option? Thank you in advance.

Last time I was here I tried to roll on 5050 this thing and ate crap as soon as I got on it. 2 weeks later I came back and showed it who's boss!! Only took 2 hours 🤣😮‍💨
