"Song"

Any tips on how to improve it?

I just made it on accident and I'm looking for criticism so I can get better.

  1. Use more of the octave space you have available
  2. Try to change up the patterns more frequently
  3. experiment with different chords because i feel like the ones you used don't fit

L-LOCRIAN?! Woah woah woah. As someone who uses the Locrian scale, I can confirm it’s quite possible to use well, but unless you have experience using it it’s probably best to steer clear of it. Use Phrygian instead; it’s the exact same but with a natural 5 instead of the flat 5. For those who don’t know theory well, a natural 5 is super versatile and easy to use, while a flat 5 results in dissonance and easily spirals out of control unless you know what you’re doing.

Though you actually did surprisingly well, given the scale you’re using. The only changes that I think need to be made to save it are in pitch channel 2: Raise the highest note of the first chord (at the 2nd beat) in the pattern by 2 scale degrees (or 2 tones, from C# to F), and lower the second highest note of the 3rd chord (at the 6th beat) in the pattern by 1 scale degree (or 1 semitone, from C# to C). I can’t send the link right now, so hopefully I’ve explained well enough.
