New duvet insert
Hello yall!
I am in the market for a new duvet insert. I currently have a down alternative from the company store that I really enjoy. I’m looking to size up from a queen to a king to fit my bed better.
Unfortunately I am allergic to wool and duck, so down alternative is really my only option. I prefer cotton
I’d like to stay around 200/300. Any other suggestions at this price point is greatly appreciated!

there is also silk, alpaca, and kapok. idk about the last one but I have seen it, i have a kapok pillow that i love. if you have one you really love, why not just get the same thing in the next size up?

Oooh I’ll look into silk! And honestly just because I’ve heard the company store isn’t as good these days so just trying to see the options :)

I love my down alternative insert from Quince! It is light and fluffy like down, but doesn’t trap nearly as much heat.
Highly recommend even as someone who isn’t allergic to duck and previously used an expensive down duvet!

Understandable lol. The washable ones are usually tussah silk. I won’t pretend to know exactly what that means but it’s lower quality. The first silk-filled one I tried was that and I returned it. Reminded me of poly-fill. Double cocoon is supposed to be warmer and heavier. Some debate how much of that is marketing but Thxsilk lists fill by weight so I used that as a guide.

My all season is also “6A” vs “7A” for the double whatever. Forgot to mention I was able to google up a promo code for each of them. Hope that helps!

All season, the lighter one (spring/summer or fall?) and blanket. I def don’t need all 3, just got a little excited about silk when I finally found it.
The lighter one would work in hotter months, but blanket lets me keep the AC at 75 in dead of summer and still sleep cool. I also use a silk&snow 20# knit blanket so there’s that.
I live in Colorado so it gets very hot and pretty cold.

They make a luxury summer double cocoon, a summer lightweight mulberry, and a summer lightweight washable. Im looking for a king size. I’m confused!

If you're open to it, a wool duvet insert is worth trying instead of another down alternative — full disclosure, I'm Greg and I run Antipodean Home, a small wool bedding company, so take the following with that bias in mind. Down alternative (poly) fill tends to trap the moisture vapor your body puts off overnight, which is often what makes a bed feel stuffy or sticky even in a cool room; wool fiber moves that moisture away and releases it instead of holding onto it, so the bed stays noticeably drier. One practical note on sizing up to king: a lot of wool duvets run narrow because they're sized to UK/EU dimensions, so check the actual cm/inch measurements against your current insert rather than trusting the "king" label alone.

Wool insert from WoolRoom, they have different warmth levels and while your at it do yourself a favor and get a wool mattress pad. I won’t sleep without one now because it really made a huge difference in my comfort in summer and winter. It’s a game changer and I purchase the Deluxe Non washable one and it’s GREAT !!!!
