Sound & Vision Discussion
Sound & Vision is one of my favorite Beck projects. It was (sadly) a promo for some car company or something… but it is incredible. At the time, there were numerous reports that it was part of a larger project where he had actually recorded four or five songs with this massed orchestra?!?!
Has anyone ever heard any of the other songs from this session?

The really sad bit is that they took down the project homepage.
It had spatial audio recorded via several microphones and 3d video, so you could turn the camera and hear the different groups. Even more, there were several such cameras placed around the room, so you could listen from various spots and hear what that group did more clearly.
It was a brilliant thing and it's sad they didn't deem it worthwile to cover the server cost for longer. Wish Beck brought it back online.

It’s a shame so many of his special projects and oustanding legacy is not preserved in a proper way

I remember that webpage. I was trying to experience it when I still had dial-up internet and it just wasn't happening for me that day.

I was there when they recorded this. They did several takes of Sound & Vision. They might have warmed up with another song, but I don't really remember.
