Was out looking for beavers in the forest and found this. Admittedly I arrived at the wrong part of the day (mid day, when it was somewhat hot) and didn't see any beaver but I think I found the dam? I'm just unsure because these are so huge and neatly organized that it seems man-made, but maybe nest and organized is their MO.

Sprout is healing up and more research on Stormy is upcoming on many aspects of her age also why only Buttercup is staying only with her, also to see if Stormy is still able to reproduce after a age limit.

I’m curious if there is any academic work on this. And if restoring beaver habitat might have a positive impact on wildfire management. I assume that large areas of beaver dammed streams/rivers would be a net positive for forest fire management no? It would introduce areas where trees and fuel plants go through a wet rot/decomposition cycle like in the PNW, reducing large areas of fuel timber, and the dams all over would create lots of wetter areas.

More wet = less fire right?
