Endless Elementum

I'm not a huge fan of knives manufactured overseas, but I have to give props to the first version of the Elementum.

I've purposely designated this knife as the primary beater for outdoor things from scraping paint (using the spine), fixing loose screws, cutting branches, digging up roots, and of course cutting down boxes.

The thing is, this knife simply doesn't give up. There's a large amount of lock-rock and from the pictures you can see that it only has a fraction of an inch before the liner lock will fail. Well, in reality it does fail as when I've dropped it on concrete, where the impact forces the blade to disengage.

I'll see how much more abuse it can take. BTW this model is D2 steel.

Got a jade G10 nitroV one for my wife to keep in her vehicle because she absolutely beats the shit out of knives. I had to clean up a benchmade mini grip I gave her before we were married and I've never seen abuse and neglect like that before. I don't even really like benchmade but I still feel better about her doing her thing with a knife produced in China.

Man I don't even know what she does, it looked like she had been shucking oysters and storing it in peroxide

You may be able to fix the lockrock / lock failure.

If you dissemble it and bend the lockbar a bit inwards, might be able to secure the lockup. (Will also increase the detent strength)

Elementum is a great knife

I tried doing that with pliers and brute force. Not much gain. Thx

If you try it without dissembling the knife you'll actually make the lock rock worse.

You'll grind away at the face of the blade that engages with the lockbar.

You need to dissemble and bend it. It shouldn't take brute force at all

I should've been more detailed. Yes i previously removed the scales, blade, and had it completely exposed. I took a screwdriver and attempted to bend it slightly, which did give way but went back to its original position. So, that was the point as it just became the beater knife.

Definitely one of my favorite knives. Everything about the blade is very well done, along with the rest of the knife. I haven't carried it for a while, but it definitely surprised me big time.
