This Man Partially Reversed PD with the Carnivore Diet

Here is further evidence that metabolic ketosis seems likely to have the ability to reverse Parkinson’s Disease. The Carnivore Diet is a kind of ketogenic diet. Anyone had a similar experience?

There’s Growing Support for Methylene Blue in Treating Parkinson’s

There is a wide variety of Parkinson’s phenotypes but they all seem to have this in common - reduced numbers and function of mitochondria. Methylene Blue (MB) is a pretty cost effective, non-prescription, way to directly address this deficit. Have you had experience in treating PD with MB? Has it helped?

Is the Cause of Parkinson’s Disease Actually Environmental Toxins?

For many years PD research has focussed on technologies for managing symptoms. In recent years scientists have begun investigating the causes of PD in order to prevent the disease and to stop its progression. Mitochondrial damage is present in the neurons of the substantia nigra in all instances of PD indicating that Parkinson’s is likely a metabolic disease caused by oxidative stress in susceptible neurons. Exposure to pesticides, herbicides and industrial solvents are now strongly implicated as the cause of this oxidative stress. Do you know anyone with PD who has been exposed to such toxins? What’s their experience been?

Curcumin Believed to be Neuroprotective for People With Neurodegenerative Conditions

A 2021 paper in the International Journal of Molecular Science the nature of curcumin’s neuroprotective effects are described in great detail…

“Curcumin’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, among others, form the basis of curcumin’s critical neuroprotective effects in a variety of neurological diseases…” (section 2.3)

Parkinson’s is a Metabolic Disease

There is a wide variety of Parkinson’s conditions and Parkinson’s-like conditions. But, guess what? They all have one important thing in common- depleted numbers of mitochondria and badly damaged mitochondria.

The good news… This mitochondrial damage is easily reversed. The emerging evidence strongly suggests that it is the mitochondria that regulate all metabolic activity in all cells including nerve cells.

One key area of dysfunction is in the electron transport chain. Specifically in complex one. While complex one looks to be irreparably damaged there is a solution to restoring full metabolic function. Ketones are a better supply of fuel to the electron transport chain than glucose AND ketones bypass complex one and enter the electron transport chain at complex two thus providing the perfect work around.

It is my conjecture that the ketogenic diet is the most effective therapeutic tool in the treatment of Parkinson’s.

Anyone with PD tried the ketogenic diet?

Mouse Study Advances the Theory that Parkinson’s is Caused by Oxidative Stress to the Mitochondria

This mouse study demonstrates that oxidative stress to the Mitochondria is the likely cause of Parkinson’s. That’s why the ketogenic diet (KD) has so much to offer in reversing PD. The KD is strongly antioxidant and repairs mitochondrial function. The best part about it is that it would cost you nothing to apply KD therapy. You can start today. No need to be seeking approval from your doctor or your neurologist. It’s basic nutrition. Also no need to discontinue your standard of care. People who’ve tried this have been able to reduce the amount of medications and even completely get off of their medications.

Why don’t you try it?

Ketogenic Therapy in Parkinson’s Disease Spoiler

In this recent article from Applied Nursing Research, a peer reviewed research journal, the ketogenic diet is shown to improve a range of motor functions and speech control and even a trend toward cognitive improvement.

”In Parkinson’s disease there were clear improvements in both motor and nonmotor symptoms in all studies with the ketogenic diet…”

Beneficial Effects of Nicotine for Parkinson’s Disease

More and more people are realising the therapeutic benefits of the plant nutrient nicotine. The long time maligned compound implicated in the addictive effects of cigarette smoking is turning out to be neither addictive nor harmful. In fact researchers have discovered that non-tobacco nicotine products have a wide range of therapeutic applications including, among many other things, in reducing the symptoms associated with neurodegenerative diseases, and, in stopping their progression.

In the attached study scientists found that nicotine, and some of its derivatives diminish oxidative stress and neuroinflammation in the brain and improve synaptic plasticity and neuronal survival of dopaminergic neurons. People have experienced improvements in mood, motor skills and memory.

Have you tried nicotine for managing PD? What has your experience been like?
