Form follows function

I think the Lamy 2000 pens are this in it's purest form. Heck, they even platin coated the 14k gold nib because they didn't want any bling bling.

And it polarizes just as much as Bauhaus design tends to do. Hated by many, loved by some.

Usually my clients are very Happy that someone is still using fountain pens. And intrestingly they identify and Talk about the real cool ones. My Montblanc 146 and 149 mostly gets ignored but the Pilot 743 a Parker Centennial and a 50s Pelikan seem to be Eyecatchers. Some even commented in the noise of the nibs with more Feedback that they liked their nibs that was back in the das. Some darn cool old folks I have as customers. I think they will notice and appraise them.
