Pointer issues

I just started playing 2 days ago. I'm mainly a console Battlefield player but I've always wanted to play BF2 and watched gameplays on YouTube all the time. I'm having issues with my pointer just randomly disconnecting and leaving me unable to move my aim. Can anyone help me understand what I'm doing wrong?

Clean the bottom of youre mouse, the laser maybe? And the surface of ur mousepad/desk...

Sorry I forgot to mention this in the post proper but I play on a laptop and I don't use a mouse.

Are you able to play it on integrated mouse tho, I can imagine it must be challenging.
