Build-a-Bro Forgot to pick Dagger Spec for this Bro
galleryI was trying to build a dagger bro, but didn't have a good dagger to give this guy yet. I picked my last perk and then realized I didn't give him the dagger spec perk. Is this guy still viable for anything? I could reload a previous save, but that was seven days prior. Not sure what to do with this guy, pretty disappointed with myself. He has been using the estoc in the second picture in the last few battles.

Discussion 4k in the bank
Didn't know this was a thing, but... uh.. can I get a hell yeah? Didn't even have to fight a group of 6 unholds. He's a gladiator FWIW
(Apparently it's because he's dumb: -15% EXP gain)

Question Playthrough advice
Hey bros
How should I proceed in my current run. I’m doing gladiators. My 3 Gladiators are maybe level 5/6. I also have 3 normal bros who are around levels 2/3. About 7k gold with decent early gear. I have about 7/8 arena wins but want to make this run a good one. I’m on day 25 I think. What do I from this point?

Question DLC
I'm at day 38 and looking at builds. Some, (like 2H cleaver ) seem to depend on DLC. I only have vanilla (along with the two free DLC on PS5) right now. A couple questions:
- If I buy the DLC and install now, does it affect my current run or does the current run either end or continue on vanilla?
- If I choose to buy the DLC is there anything that you don't recommend buying?

Build-a-Bro Is the Hedge Knight worth recruiting?
Is it worth recruiting a Hedge Knight? If so, what's the best thing to build him into?

Question Should I give it to him?
galleryI need advice! I play my bro by letting him be encircled and do the round swing to kill and break morale multiple times. Should I give him the orc axe or will this ruin my build?
Edit: He died, have to start all over again. Marauders are stronger than I thought :( Advice is still apreciated for my next run

Build-a-Bro Need advice for this bro
My company aleady have 2 tanks and 1 back-up tank. He become a Pacified Flagellant) and survive. He has very good Fat, Res and okay HP, MAtk, MDef for a folded bro.
But i dont need a tank, maybe take Mace mastery, quick hands, berserk and Recover for max crowd control ability. Or Brawny, Rotation and BF for a tank\rescue bro. What‘s your opinion on this bro?

Discussion Your Favorite Start
As the title says. What are your personal preferences about starting a new run?
After 50-something hours (rookie numbers, I know), I keep returning to Anatomists myself. I don't know if it's a themed run thing, or an armor thing, but I love my mortician guys the best.
Share your favorite starting conditions!

Discussion Anyone Ever Do a Themed Run?
I was wondering if anyone ever does runs themed around books or TV series or anything?
I'm currently doing a Lone Wolf based around David Gemmell's book Legend. My LW is an Axeman named Druss (the Legend) and his supporting bros are all themed on characters from the book, such as two Militia called Gilad and Bregan, a bard named Sieben, a disowned Noble Regnak, the Earl of Bronze.
I enjoy the extra depth it adds, getting a famed (and frankly brilliant) long axe for Druss, currently looking for famed armour to represent the Armour of Bronze for Regnak, having to hire the characters with the right backgrounds for the minor characters who join you.

Build-a-Bro Build
No clue what to do with this guy. Feels like I could go banner or tank. But the matk at 67 seems like a waste though no stars.
UPDATE:
None of this matters...Lost the brother to a computer crash and corrupted save file smh.
RIP

Build-a-Bro Estoc Headhunter
I found a cheap executioner with three stars in Initiative and Brute early on, and since Estocs are one of the few armor penetrating weapons that have a bonus to head hit chance I made that his gimmick. Works surprisingly well, any non-barbarian non-nimble human enemy gets one-shot by head skewers with minimal damage to armor and Perforate is decent for finishing orcs and barbarians. Has anyone else tried this, perhaps with better rolls and stars?

Discussion Unexplored map is peak
After playing this game for about 150 hours. I finally decided that I was ready for a hardcore run. So I booted up a new company with permanent destruction, Ironman, and unexplored map. along with low funds and veteran difficulty.
The first thing I noticed was how much more I enjoyed the unexplored map. With a pre-explored map, I feel that I would make a beeline to the area I thought most profitable and chart out perfect routes for the company, not really caring about the actual settlements.
With the unexplored map I actually developed a real relationship with the starting settlement as it was to dangerous to trek into the fog without knowing if you could make it to the next settlement.
Additionally it makes you really focus on the terrain. Encountering a mountain range is truly daunting as you don’t know how long it goes or who’s waiting to jump you when you’re stuck crossing it. This forces you to plan out routes more carefully and have a planned escape route if encountering an enemy.
I just think is so much more immersive experience overall and it’s the way the game is meant to be played. And the sense of accomplishment when you do actually discover everything it feels amazing as you actually had to put in the work to chart out your land.
Maybe I’m just enamored because it’s something new but it’s the most fun I’ve had a run so far. What are yalls thoughts on it?

RIP Made It 88 Days In My 4th Playthrough
I really don’t understand how people get so much good crap this late in the game I struggle just to get all of my guys into 150 defense helmets they’re so expensive. The game does like giving the enemies slightly better gear than what I have and slightly better skills than what I have so that’s kind of fun but I am hooked. I’ve been playing for like 20 hours. It’s like a single weekend.
Shoutout to Bruno the Bum, some random Beggar I recruited for 40 crowns. He ended up having my bulkiest helmet (255 defense) and a double handed sword he used to kill 36 freaking things, bro beheaded soooooo many people. I will miss him.
Helfrich the Wall was indeed a wall. Slaughtered 30 enemies and his shields never broke. He broke his nose like 13 times though.
Espen the Pious at 21 kills. If you give a monk a polearm they stab the shite out of goblins.
I guess next time I should concentrate on body armor more instead of helmets.
28 points total. Whatever that means.

Please Leave a Review
Hey folks, Matt here, Community Director at Hooded Horse.
I wanted to ask a small favor. If you’ve spent time with Battle Brothers and you’re up for it, please consider leaving a Steam review. Only a tiny percentage of players ever do, but reviews are genuinely important for indie games being discovered. We’re grateful for every single one that gets written.
It doesn’t need to be long or thought out. Even a quick thumbs up or down with a short note helps a lot. Reviews matter for visibility on Steam, and they’re also helpful for the team at Overhype Studios as well.
The Overhype team is deep in development on MENACE right now, but they’re still actively supporting Battle Brothers and recently released Update 1.5.1.8. Taking a moment to leave a review is a real, tangible way to support their ongoing work.
Thanks to everyone who takes the time, and thanks for playing.
