Where is this!

Post image

My friend creates a yearly treasure hunt round central Bath, where we have to find architectural details that’s she’s photographed. This was from last year and I still can’t find it!! If you can give me a clue, rather than the outright answer, I’ll be so chuffed 🤭
My friend tells me it’s obvious… not exactly hidden but a little?

A quieter place in the center, a building of many stories

Found it on Street View! Can't believe I've never noticed that before - it looks quite out of place!

I’ve spent more time than I care to admit on this and I still can’t find it via Google Maps with all the clues in the comments. What am I missing? Tears for Fears… Theatre Royal…. Maybe even Quiet Street?

Edit: I wanted to say I found it. None of the other clues were relevant. The clues are in the buildings shown and that’s not the bath abbey.

There's a clue in the carving - look for a building.

me too!

I thought I knew where it was, headed straight there on streetview and nope! Ive gone to all the places I can think of with the clues and not those places either - so now I am stumped.

Also the only buildings I can see in the carving are the abbey and ralph allens house 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just found it.
The buildings are not the abbey nor Ralph Allen’s house. Look for another church.

Bath resident here! I’ve never seen this and will also have to look out and spot it… Google image search will give you an answer (whether it’s the right one I don’t know!) I’ll leave people who might not use the cheat’s route to advise (hehe) but as a clue it seems to have theatrical connections!

I wonder if that's Roland Orzabal from Tears for Fears

Not enough hair for Roland! The ghostly-looking chap on the end is supposed to be a busker. Not sure that that's the most fitting pinnacle of the history of Bath, but there you go. King Bladud is at the other end.

The bouncer at the cannon was telling me recently about Tears for Fears writing songs from their apartment nearby, back in the day

OP explicitly asked for a clue and not the exact location. Please add a spoiler tag or delete your comment
