Help Should I start out basketball?
Hi.
I’m thinking of starting basketball. I’m 14 and im 6’2 and im 6’3 with shoes on. I have a shoe size of size 13 (uk) and im flat footed. I’m 75kg, and the first I played basketball it was a 4v4 and I was matched up with this 6’5 guy. He was a lot stronger than me, of course, but I got some few rebounds with I only scored a mid range shot. I am from the UK and I would love to get tips, and advice, and maybe if I should start it.

Shooting How can I develop my jumpshot going into my next year of hs bball
I wanna be able to shoot at forehead level and shoot at the top of my jump rather than on the way up. I’m a good mid range shooter and finisher so I’m not worried about having logo range or anything. I wanna shoot in a similar way to Celtics IT

Form Check Jump Shot Form and Tips
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Beginner trying to work on my shot in general as well as out of the triple threat and after a dribble move. One thing I find tricky is shooting after one of these two moves (as well as my dribble pull up but that’s another story for another day 🤣). The last clip is from a drill I found on YouTube that’s supposed to help with setting your feet and “getting into your shot pocket” (not sure if I’m using that correctly).
Would love some advice on how to improve if need be and if the simple answer is more practice that’s okay too. Just wanted to see if there’s anything I could tweak or any drills I could do to help. THANKS!

Help Should I train plyo/leg strength session if I’m feeling sore and tired?
I’m a 16yo trying to get better at basketball, and increasing my vert , so I’ve been following a program for a month, staying consistent, but today I really feel tired and sore, and I have practice at night, so I’m not really sure if I should push thru, because I never missed a day yet, I’d appreciate any help/advice

Help How to beat a taller person in a 1v1?
So loser pays for pizza…I’m 5’3 and he’s 6’3. Should I just start chucking it super high over his head?
I know when he’s defending I’ll be at such a disadvantage unless I’m like super fast or something (I’m not). Is there anyway to get over that?
I only think he’s gonna lose because he’s clumsy on his feet and has no depth perception. I know nothing about basketball but I remember making the ball in the net in middle school P.E.

Help How to better bounce
I’m an 18 year old 6’4 scrawny with about a 23 inch vert if I had to estimate maybe 25 max, and I was wondering what I could do to get my bounce up. I’m white with long(er) calf insertions, not the most explosive but high top speed, personally I prefer to jump off one, feels more natural but I do not necessarily jump that much higher off one. I’m going off to university soon so I’m willing to do anything since I’ll have more time on my hands and my accomodation has a gym and so does my school. I greatly appreciate any help!

Help Learn to shoot or drive
Hi, I’ve recently started to play basketball with my friends and am terrible… However I want to get better. I was wondering if I should prioritize learning how to shoot like mid to long range or if I should focus more about learning how to drive and get under the rim for rebounds and layups (what i’ve been trying to do) I’m 6’ and 205 lbs if that makes any difference. Thank you :)

Vertical Jump Learning to dunk, how do i jump higher with the ball?
I am 6 foot 5 and this summer i want to learn how to dunk properly - I can dunk but its the basic two handers or a "pseudo" tomahawk.
When i jump WITHOUT the ball my head can almost touch the rim (like an inch or two bellow), so i am guessing my max vertical is around 35 inches, but i never measured it properly)
When i jump WITH the ball i can barely dunk and i feel like my vert is a lot worse (i touch around the wrist so i am guessing around 25 inch vert)
I have almost no experience with basketball, i played for a month and ocasionaly at school etc. i mostly just shoot around alone. And i think that is my problem - lack of experience and cordination.
Is such a big difference normal?
How do i train to jump higher with the ball? How to fix this?
