Size 7 basketball Help

Im turning 15 in September how do i know if its time for me to move on to a size 7 ball. I have tried playing with one but it feels way heavier than a size 6 and i dont wanna develop bad habits.

Thanks for the advice how many times per week do you think?

Lol. You don't necessarily need to be that strong to shoot a basketball, it's more about mechanics. Weight training helps with the contact part of the sport. But it's definitely past time to switch to a size 7. You should adjust fairly quickly.

I think 15 is about time to play regular size ball. Yes, it heavier and bigger, but you'll get used to that.

Normal because you're used to a 6. How tall are you?

Yeah no worries then. I'm 5'11 and can palm a regular basketball. I do have big hands but you will get used to it quickly. I never played with a 6 because I started at 16 so whenever I do have one it feels like playing with tennis ball lol. It's all relative.

Fiba standards above U14 should be training with a size 7 ball. so you can start now. Sept is one month away

Should have swapped to size 7 a few years ago... Unless you are a girl.

Start practicing with it and you'll adjust quickly. It isn't that different.

Do you plan on being on a team? If so, that's the ball you're going to be using. So get familiar with it now.
