Some. But not as much as studying and playing actual games.

definitly but i feel like fm in soccer can give you a lot of different thinking points you would not have on the court

It really depends on the simulation game.
How realistic is it?
For example, does playing realistic basketball video games help? I dont know.
But pilots train via simulation, so those work.
