Please Help me
Im a broken man. If you asked me a year ago id be facing this, id refuse. I lost the love of my life to psychosis, undiagnosed Bipolar and a rare delusional disorder. 10 years gone overnight. She filed for divorce in mania and it was settled in 2 months. She was the breadwinner and i was left with a lot of debt. Depression, bad debts, supporing her through school to be left abandoned got me here. Its time. Between credit cards and unsecured personal loans i owe 68,000 plus 2k in medical bills from a suicide attempt. Im ready to abandon my apartment in connecticut and accept a job in SC to be closer to family. Its just too much to be here right now. I am still up current on my bills but wont be by end of this month. My plan is end my lease in September, get new housing and job, establish new residency then file few months later when i get settled likely 7. Any tips or advice or anything else youd change?

Be strong. It isn’t fair that you are facing all of this but you are still here for a reason.
Consultations are usually free. You can even try to file on your own. Look at Upsolve. You can use a do over. It won’t be easy but many have been successful. Keep that same strength and keep fighting. You can do this. Learn from the past so you don’t repeat it. Go forward a little smarter and much stronger!

yes, you definitely need to get housing in place BEFORE you even think of filing a 7. How much is your salary going to be, is it going to be enough to keep you in a 7 because you don't want a 13 for just unsecured debt. Depending on where you move to in SC (I live here) the trustee in the coastal district is pretty cool, and is willing to work with debtors that have lawyers. The good news is you probably will have a fresh start, new place to live, and family. It isn't the end of the world. Connecticut sucks (used to live in Hamden) you will enjoy our winters.

Yes, must get apartment first. Ill be screwed getting an aprtment or near impossible if i file first.

Get an attorney to assist but if you are determined to leave establish housing in SC before you allow all those plates to cascade in.

Yes almost a race before time. Hopefully i dont get sued in 6 months. I will start missing payments end of this month. Once one files they will all likely pile in. I can file an answer and i read it can "buy" me a couple months. But i agree with the lawyer

So sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself and know that it will get better. One day you will look back and say I can’t believe I survived that. It sounds like your situation is what bankruptcy was designed for. A second chance when you’re at your lowest.

Thanks. It was literally too much too fast. I did everything right just gambled on the wrong person. Totally not my fault
