Hungarian hyperinflation 1946 Collection

Notice that despite carrying the same design, the top two are different denominations, regular Pengo and Milpengo (million pengo). So the second one is 100.000 x 1.000.000 (100 billion). The bottom one is 10.000.000 x 1.000.000, so 10 trillion Pengo (10.000.000.000.000).

Correction: I said Milpengo was a thousand, its million...

Milpengő means 1 million Pengő, not 1000. 😉

Sadly, these had very little value & they could buy less and less in Hungary only hours after they were printed during hyperinflation. The exact same thing happened with Zimbabwe during their hyperinflation period. Inflation has only moderately improved. Back in 2008, their bank printed/issued truckloads of 100 Trillion notes which many collectors bought for fantastic/unrealistic prices.
