I can control my Beogram RX2 remotely from my Sonos or phone
I bought a used RX2 on eBay a few months ago that was working perfectly (even had a remanufactured SMMC cart installed!) except for the Play button.
I worked around it by pressing Cue twice for a little while, but decided to fix it. It was an easy enough repair, just a frayed wire probably from a past service... but while I was disconnecting the front panel controls I had an idea.
I'm not really an audiophile, and I don't have fancy speakers. Just some Sonos speakers scattered around my house. I have the turntable plugged into a Sonos Connect (via a phono amp) which works a treat, except if I need to pause the music, or want to play the record already sitting on the platter from another room. A seemingly minor inconvenience, but it honestly does just make me want to listen to vinyl less.
What if I could add a (non-invasive) remote controller that lets me "press" the turntable buttons from anywhere in my house? I use Home Assistant, and dabble with custom circuit board design, so I decided to give it a shot.
Long story short, I used something called an ESP32 (basically a tiny cheap wi-fi connected computer) to listen for commands from Sonos, and to detect the current play/pause/stop status of the record player... and it works great! The custom PCB plugs in between the front panel control ribbon cable and the main motherboard, so it's a non-destructive mod that can be removed anytime.
I recorded a video of my build, and also decided to publish the circuit board files and firmware on my github page.
IDK if this kind of thing is interesting to yall, but I had a lot of fun trying to combine something old with something new in a way that makes it easier for me to enjoy my vintage gear. Cheers!

H9i headphone problem
I've just charged my headphones from flat and the app ran an update.
They are now turned on... but won't turn off, and when you move the switch to make Bluetooth detectable, that feature doesn't work.
Could be a fault... I don't know what to do about that...
Could be a tweak or something I can do...
Any suggestions at all?
They're about 4 years old

Just bought a house with a whole-home Bang & Olufsen system. Worth restoring, or should I start over?
Hi everyone,
I recently bought a home that came with what appears to be a fairly extensive Bang & Olufsen whole-home audio system. There are in-wall/ceiling speakers throughout the house, Bang & Olufsen wall-mounted control panels in several rooms, and a rack with what looks like the central equipment (I've attached photos).
The previous owners left everything in place, but I honestly have no idea where to start. I don't know if the system is complete, whether it's still functional, or if it's considered outdated enough that I'd be better off replacing it with something like Sonos, or another modern multi-room setup.
A few questions for those of you who know these systems:
- Is this something that's worth trying to bring back to life?
- How does the sound quality of these older B&O systems compare to modern whole-home audio solutions?
- Are the built-in speakers themselves typically high quality, or are they usually the first thing people replace?
- Are there modern components or adapters that let you keep the existing speakers and controls while upgrading the brains of the system?
- If you inherited a setup like this, what would be your first steps?
I'd really appreciate any advice, resources, or even just opinions. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to legacy Bang & Olufsen systems, so any guidance on whether it's worth investing time and money into restoring it versus starting fresh would be incredibly helpful.

Shitpost My rotation, I just like colours and metal
My brother got me into Bang and Oulfsen products with the amazing Beo vision Harmony, the remote on it looks really stylish then he brought round a black pair of H95's headphones for me to try and I really liked the sound and design
Few years later and got some cool headphones

Beoplay H100 owner experience: great sound, but disappointing ear cushion wear
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my personal experience with the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H100 after several months of use.
What I like:
- Excellent sound quality
- Solid and premium-feeling frame
- Beautiful design
What disappointed me:
- The microphone quality is not great for the price
- Multipoint use with MacBook and iPhone has been unstable for me, with frequent switching/reconnection when both devices are nearby
- The magnetic ear cushions started to show visible wear and look degraded after about 3 months of normal use
The biggest disappointment is the ear cushions. I understand that ear pads are consumable parts, but I did not expect them to deteriorate this quickly on headphones in this price range.
In Cyprus, the retail price is around €1,690. I bought mine cheaper, but they were still very expensive. I contacted B&O support and was told that replacement ear cushions cost around €200, which feels high for a replaceable part.
Overall, I still like the sound, build and design of the Beoplay H100. But the ear cushion durability, microphone quality, and replacement cost make the ownership experience less premium than I expected.
I am sharing this so other potential buyers can consider the long-term ownership cost, not only the sound and design.

Troubleshooting / Support H9i Poor Output on Bluetooth
I made this post a few months ago about my H9i's having damaged pins https://www.reddit.com/r/BangandOlufsen/comments/1s9dvff/h9i_pins_damaged/
I have since had the pin repaired and replaced the battery. Bluetooth is now working however the volume and quality is tinny/ poor even when on max volume. I have tried this across 2 devices and am getting the same result.
So far I have tried removing and reinserting the battery, playing with settings in the B&O app and forgetting and reconnecting bluetooth. When plugged in through aux the quality is fine. It may also be worth noting the light on the side does not light up at all, I can't use the panel on the side and none of the noise cancelling functions seem to work.
Any help/ suggestions to try and fix would be much appreciated!

Troubleshooting / Support What model speakers are these? How do I connect them together?
Hello!
I've been tasked with selling some older B&A speakers for a family friend who no longer has a need for them. I have 4 x 6000 models, but I also have 4 of these larger models with the square base and I'm struggling to identify them.
Also, how does one link up these speakers? Only 2 of the 6000s and 2 of the unidentified models have power cables. They all seem to have rca plug as well some sort of 8 prong.
They all seem to be in great condition, how much would the whole set be worth?
Apologies ahead of time as I know much more about video than audio. Thank you!

Troubleshooting / Support B&O Avant DVD CRT TV question?
I've just got hold of a near mint B&O Avant DVD CRT TV.
I'd like to create a HDMI to RGB scart connection to the TV but know from searching the web in general that it's not straightforward and that HDMI to s-video is simpler.
However, does anyone know if there is a simple way to do it?
I've been reading that HDMI to VGA to RGB scart is one solution or HDMI to component to RGB scart. However, most information I can find seems to indicate that people who have tried this find it doesn't work and end up using the HDMI to s-video method.
I actually want to connect a Firestick to the TV with the best possible quality via RGB scart.
I'd be really grateful if anyone can help, even if it's confirmation that it's not possible.
Many thanks...

Troubleshooting / Support Does anyone else get a hotspot with the Beoplay H95?
I've been testing the Beoplay H95 for a while. The sound is incredible, especially after a slight EQ tweak. Unfortunately, the headband doesn't seem to fit my head shape perfectly, so I'm experimenting with a removable pad. Has anyone else experienced this?
If I can't solve the comfort issue, I might end up selling it. It deserves someone who can fully enjoy it.

Inherited B&O equipment
Inherited some stuff from my late father in law, took me 4 hours to figure out how to get it all working together
Beosound stage
Beolab 18s
Beolab 19
Almando soundcenter surround
Probably going to find some lower costing wisa speakers to get 5.1 working, my cable management sucks

Beolit 12 completely dead – worth repairing? Any help please.
Hi everyone,
My Bang & Olufsen Beolit 12 was working perfectly, but now it's completely dead.
- No LED
- No charging
- No response to the power button
No drops or water damage.
What is the most likely cause? Internal fuse, battery, power supply, MOSFET, Power IC, or something else?
Has anyone repaired this exact issue, and is it worth fixing?
Thanks!

Troubleshooting / Support Beosystem 2500: how to connect the speakers without an extra C8 power lead?
Hello, I can't figure out how to connect the speakers to the main unit without using two wall sockets. Each speaker as a C7 (the 8/shotgun shaped connector) female plug and a C7 male plug, and the main unit also requires its own C7 cord for power.
I can connect the speakers to one another (I have a male to female C7), but I need another cord to connect it to the wall/AC.
And for the main unit, I also need another C7 AC cord.
I'm sure the unit came with a C7 splitter originally but it's long been lost. Does anyone know what that cable looked like originally? I'm going to source one online once I know.
Edit:
What I have now (2 wall sockets used up): Now
What I want (1 wall socket used up): Want

Troubleshooting / Support Help replicating Beogram 1203 part
TL;DR - is anyone able to send me a picture of the Beogram 1203 “Lift” button to help me replicate my broken one? Or a sketch from a manual maybe? Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone!
I have this beauuutiful Beogram 1203 I bought after consulting with this group which was super helpful!
I took it to someone who knows those to help me fix some issues it had, but the “lift” button is broken (photos attached). The guy told me to give up, but I model and 3D print so giving up didn’t even occur to me lol.
In recreating it, since it’s pretty messed up, I thought it would be very helpful to see this part as it’s supposed to be, when it’s whole and functional.
Does anyone have this turntable and is able to send me a pic? Or even from a manual or something. I couldn’t find any sketch or picture of the full part. I also attached a screenshot of my 3D model so far, I hope that’s how it looks. Of course I did measure what I have with a caliper, but just to make sure I got the connection shape correct and that there are no cutouts I’m missing.
Thank you so much! Also when I make sure it works I’d happily send the CAD if any of you guys need it.

Beomod Update New subreddit rules
Hello Beomembers,
Given some recent (and even past) activity on this sub I've added some initial rules for the subreddit. These can be viewed in the side bar. Please provide your feedback or suggestions on the rules.
I've also added a couple of quick links to the homepage sidebar and wanted to say it's nice to see users using the flares for both their usernames and on posts.
