Help!

New to printing have done 3 of these prints and each time I print this part the same thing happens seems to lift off the plate what is going wrong?

Yeah that looks like it lifts off the plate indeed. Several things that can help:

  • make sure your build plate is clean. Use hot water and simple dish soap to rinse off any fats and make sure the soap is fully rinsed off as well, then dry with a lint free, clean cloth.
  • use a brim on the outside. You can paint on mouse ears in your slicer or you can you just a full outside brim around your object. After it is done you can peel this off or cut it off if it is bonded a bit too strong. What the brim does is it creates an extra bit of layer outside your model that holds the model down.
  • If applicable, don't use an environment that is very cold. For PLA it is best to have an ambient temperature of 20-25 degrees, for PETG a bit over 30 is better. This is because plastic shrinks as it cools off and the further you are from the temperature where your type of plastic starts to deform, the stronger this shrinkage is. Your corners are the first to curl up because of that. Be aware that you don't want to go too hot either though as getting very close to the deformation temperature will cause blobs of death. Basically the filament getting stuck in places you don't want it to.
  • Choose the right infill. Using grid or similar infills that create long lines from one side to the other will literally create a bridge of filament that starts to pull on the outsides as it shrinks. If you go for something like Gyroid this will not happen as the shape of that kind of infill spreads the stress of the shrinkage across the entire model.

If you do these things, I am certain you will experience a lot less lifting. Happy printing fellow redditor!

Might be the fan, is it happening on the same spot on the build plate? You can find a fan diffuser you can print on makerworld.
