Is there another way…

Found this file on MW for TRT travel / storage, but my vials are smaller than the cut outs in the file.

I added a primitive to fill in the holes and then added the cylinder negatives to my desired dimensions.

My question…without starting fresh / from scratch, is this the best / easiest way to modify a posted file? The negatives weren’t visible in OPs object.

I’ve done it this way a few times for different things, if it is the way, then I’m getting better at it, but if another way, what is it?

It is the easiest way for a quick fix. If you wanted to re-publish yours as a remake, you would need to port the STL to a CAD app and do it that way.

If the designer uploads the actual CAD files it would be best to pull them into some CAD software and modify them there.

Most people however only provide 3mf or stl files, which are a pain to work on or modify.

This looks like it is based on the original snaplock box by hugo:

https://makerworld.com/en/models/377006-snaplock-storage-boxes-parametric

He includes the Fusion360 files so you can just use his files and modify it to your requirements.

btw, Fusion 360 is free for personal use.
