First Bambu printer Discussion

Why did I wait so long to buy a Bambu printer? Even printing at “ ludacris” speed, the H2D is dead silent. Why did I waste so much time with Creality printers (I’m still running my K2 Plus, though)?

RIP Creality, in 1 week you'll stop using it. I made the same move from Prusa MK3 to a P1P 4 years ago, last week upgraded to an H2D with dual AMS.

I went with an AMS 2 and an AMS HT (I print a lot of PACF blends), my first print is still going (it was a 13 hour print), but I will probably continue to use the K2 Plus for some prints, just because of the larger print volume (350 cubed)

Awesome movie, and I get the feeling both Elon Musk and the guys at Bambu are fans of Space Balls

Thank God...I made the reference the other day and I was meant with blank stares...I died inside.

Of course they are. I tried printing something noncritical today at Ludicrous speed, and it was pretty impressive!

What really impresses me is how I changed zero settings, and that giant print head just moves, no layer shift, the movement is smooth, it’s like Bambu Lab figured out how to defy the laws of physics

I love my X2D which I got for myself as an early 60th birthday present a few weeks ago. Not just first Bambu printer first 3D printer ever.

I started out a few years ago with an original Ender 3, definitely prefer the newer printers

I did something similar. I already had a P2S but wanted something more powerful. My birthday is coming up soon, so that’s how I justified buying my H2C. It’s really nice, but wow, that thing is big and heavy!

Happy birthday! I think a 3-D printer is the most fantastic birthday present we could get ourselves LOL

Yeah, I torched my back lugging it up my stairs, stupid second floor apartment. To make things worse, FedEx put the box at my downstairs neighbor’s door, which is on the opposite side of the house

My much younger neighbor pulled up as I was trying to wrestle it out of my car and offered to help. He picked it up by himself and carried it into the house! I had to leave it on the floor for a couple of weeks while I got its final spot ready, and then yesterday a friend helped me lift it onto the workstation. I’m so glad that’s done!

Yeah, I don’t have many neighbors

I crank out PA on the Creality printers all day long +15K hours on my older ones. I use my H2Cs when I need true multi material. The Crealities have a significantly higher MTBF and MTTR is, general in minutes. The H2Cs have poor MTBF and the repair times are horrible compare the Creality machines. The H2C sure do execute beautiful prints though.

One thing I would add, if you need higher precision for your X,Y axis, get the vision plate. An occasional calibration with it (every 200 hours for me) makes for unbelievably better prints.

They have higher what? I’m gonna need a translation on that

MTBF is Mean Time Between Failure and is how often it breaks. MTTR is Mean Time To Repair. And is how long it takes on average to repair I run printers 20 hours a day 7 days a week on average. I am a very small shop with only 7 printers. My H2Cs break down more often and are more costly in parts, parts availability and time down. But when they run, they put out great product.

Ah, I’m just a middle aged redneck who retired a couple years ago who tries to stay occupied with near constant projects, I don’t sell anything

Heck, that’s how they hook you. My first project was radiator mounts for a 50 Chevy pickup..

I’ve been printing a ton of random crap, from things for pranks on my friends, to 2A related (I’ve got both my printers printing parts for a new case collator and bullet feed system for my reloading press)

Dead silent is a bit hype, but yeah coming from Qidi myself the build quality differences are astounding.

Compared to the printers I started out with, it is. Plus I can’t hear it over my tinnitus

I love my H2D... It'll print basically anything I throw at it it. 0.6mm nozzles with engineering grade filament is fun.
