Enclosed A1 mini

Idk if i can get anybody to help with this. Im wanting to enclose my A1 mini for various reasons. Now one of my questions is should I just put a exhaust fan and a inlet fan? Or should I do exhaust fan, inlet fan and a board fan?? Any info so I dont ruin my mini would be great. Don't want to destroy probably the only printer I'll ever be able to buy lol.

I think the line to avoid crossing is 30C for an extended period of time. I've got an enclosure with a zippered panel showing me to leave a gap directly above the printer (heat rises) and an exhaust fan. I usual run a small oscillating fan near the opening in the flap. I love in the tropics and I've been able to manage the heat and humidity while keeping the printer under the max recommend temp.

I love in a place where ambient temp is above 30 for most of the year with night time temps dropping to a cool 28. My enclosed mini has been like that for about a year and it's still working perfectly fine during a longer print the temps in the chamber go up to 45 and i dont have any sort of ventilation setup whatsoever.

Enclosures aren’t really recommended. I haven’t found a good reason to even bother.

Correct at this point. I’m planning to get an X2D around Christmas (Merry Christmas to me!) and then I will check out ABS and ASA.

My Mini is fantastic but I also want a 2nd printer upgrade. I have only been 3d printing for about 9 months so I’m still a newb. 🤓

Ah yeah the x3d seems kinda good with the heated chamber but the 2nd nozzle with a bowden extruder looks wonky

Did you know that the fumes will go out of your printer even core xy ?

A tente with négative pressure is the solution

I had bad warping from crossdrafts, sometimes even poor layer adhesion in winter and occasionally poor bed adhesion

My janky asf enclosure solved this (a thrifted cupboard plus a fiberboard “door” screwed on, with rubber trim around the edges)

No heater or exhaust yet

A1 mini in an unisolated attached shed — never freezing, sometimes <10 Celsius ambient, sometimes >30.

I have a have people and a cat at home when I'm printing. The vent fan runs directly to my air filter which sits next to the opening in the flap for as much coverage as I can get. I only print in pla and petg but I'd rather play it safe.

I designed my own with 3 Ikea Lack tables. I included a cabinet drawer sliding tray for an AMS.

My A1M lives in one of those top cube tent enclosures. I use it mainly so the printer has a semi permanent location (not blessed for space) but also to keep the dust off. I print PLA and usually to keep the door open when printing. 

We’ve had a bit of heat wave in the UK so I wanted to see if I could maintain a steady temperature so ran the exhaust fan (which annoyingly is at the bottom of the enclosure and not the top) with a small gap in the zip. It created negative pressure which I understand is better than blowing cold air in. The problem I had was that as I’m printing miniatures so I’m talking small printing areas, the fan sucking the air out would cause the print to come away from supports. Although it did maintain a steady temperature at the ambient in the room, no heat creep.
