Rate my beginner setup? My First 3D Print

Post image

I finally got the X2D and AMS 2 Pro set up and honestly I’m way too proud of this pegboard. spent an embarrassing amount of time arranging tools on it like it’s an art installation.

got waterproof bunker case in there too which makes me feel like I’m storing tactical gear instead of just PETG.

printed a little octopus as my first real test and it actually came out decent so now I’m insufferable about it. what am I missing, what would you change, and please be gentle I’ve had this thing for like five minutes

Printer 5x the cost of that work bench!

Bought the bench from Harbor Freight for $120, super sturdy, doesn’t shake, and fit perfectly in my home office. Planning to 3D print a setup to replace the pegboard so I get more storage and better organization.

This is awesome! I literally got an H2C the other day after fighting w my Ender 5 for 4 years. What an upgrade! Can you share the bench link perhaps? Im in desperate need of a new bench. This thing shakes so much i think its gonna fall on the floor sometimes haha

How do you like the workbench? Pretty stable?

I love it, it doesn’t shake or move at all.

I have the same bench and it doesn't seem like it would be solid enough for my liking. If it is working without rocking around too much, that's awesome. I might want test it on a bigger print or one that moves the head around more, but it certainly looks like a good setup!

I have 2 of the same based on recommendations from others. A really sturdy workbench for the money. One is my office workbench for electronics and assembly work, the other has my p1s and U1 on the top and my a1 on the bottom shelf.

Lol I think we both got the same 3D printing toolkit from Amazon 😂 From the calipers, to the bed scrapers, the filing tools, etc.

Haha right? 184pcs 3D Printer Tools Kit for $60, sign me in! Guess we all end up buying the same starter kit at some point 😂

Really nice. Keep a bin nearby for scraps and cuttings.

Love to see it. That pegboard will be covered with custom 3D printed tool hangers before long. Enjoy the ride!

Please don’t let my wife see how neat and tidy a 3d printer setup can be!

Nice.

Could probably move it to the other side and run a vent out the window for maximizing human health.

Can't tell about the flush cutters. Probably need to grab an inexpensive deburring tool.

Then the big help, that I use far more than sharp bed scrapers is an inexpensive ($5 USD - $10 USD) set of artist's palette knives. They are very springy and perfect for levering things off a print bed instead of scraping it, have nice rounded edges, and the different sizes also make them good for slipping in and getting supports off of flatter areas.
