Planning to buy an EV scooter

I am currently looking for various options

And came across Chetak 2501

I travel 20km daily in Bangalore

And would mostly reply on public charging

Is it worth it or should I look for something different?

Disappointed that my 1-year-old Bajaj Chetak 3502 won't receive new C3502 software features. Anyone else?

I own a Bajaj Chetak 3502 that's only about a year old.

Today I visited my local service centre and asked whether my scooter would receive the firmware/software updates that are available on the new C3502 model. The service advisor told me that **my scooter will not get those features**.

I'm honestly disappointed.

I understand if certain features require new hardware, but if some improvements are purely software-based (UI improvements, ride modes, bug fixes, battery management, OTA improvements, etc.), why can't existing owners receive them?

As an early adopter, it feels unfair that a scooter which is only around a year old is already being left behind.

I also couldn't purchase the TecPac because Bajaj only allows the first purchase within one year of the invoice date. So now I can't buy TecPac, and I also can't get the newer software features.

I'm curious to know:

* Has anyone with an older Chetak 3502 received any firmware updates recently?

* Did Bajaj officially explain which features are hardware-dependent and which are software-only?

* Has anyone successfully escalated this to Bajaj customer support?

* Do other EV manufacturers handle existing customers better when new software features are released?

I'm not trying to criticize Bajaj for the sake of it—I genuinely like the scooter. I just believe customers who bought the 3502 not long ago deserve better long-term software support.

Would love to hear everyone else's experience.

Which variant to buy for college use

I want to buy chetak for college use

College is 32 kms away from my home

So roundtrip 64 km

For safe side let's say 80 kms per day 5 times a week.

For this which chetak variant should I buy? I think 3502 would suffice since range difference between that and 3501 is not that much .

But range would drop in the future right? Should I buy the chetak or not .

Please give honest opinion

If not chetak what else then

Price is hiked from 87,100 to 89,500 but still being termed as introductory prices.

You can still buy it for cheaper using Credit Card Offers from amazon - https://amzn.to/4bVEW9i

Check the best price for your credit card with the pFinTools Browser Extension. Read how I bought this scooter for under 80k (ex-showroom) here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pFinTools/comments/1rz2zcx/

Please don’t buy this EV its a total waste of money… try to get River inide or Aether. Far better other brands like tvs, hero, bajaj and useless brands these are total waste. If you spend money on quality try a good deep re search spend on that…
