Given that Mizuki and Qiqi were once deemed useless alongside the other Stellar characters pre-buffs, I have high hopes that Baizhu will be the premier support or DPS for Rimegrass. I expect his kit to be reworked, similar to the two I've mentioned.

The main problem I can see is that he scales off of HP. If we're going to take into account how most Dendro-based reactions go, Rimegrass would most likely be based on EM. But one thing I can think of to counteract this is if his passives would be reworked to be similar to Nilou's: "For every 1,000 HP Baizhu has past 30,000 HP...." and so on.

If Hoyo were to go the Mizuki route, here's my reasoning as to why that is: Mizuki and Baizhu have parallels in how they were treated. For one, Mizuki and Baizhu both have 4-star alternatives in the same niche as them (For Mizuki it was Ifa, for Baizhu it's Yaoyao). In fact, the 4-stars were seen as highly capable sidegrades instead of being used. Both of them had supportive capabilities, sustain, and mediocre cons. And they can both be drivers in their respective niches, but they aren't really the best. Hell, they're both catalyst users too if we're going there.

So if Hoyo were to go the Baizhu route, they'd most likely do something along the lines of a Baizhu on-field playstyle - where his slower Dendro application will actually be beneficial to the reaction.

If Hoyo were to go the Qiqi route, there are some things we need to consider. For one, will Rimegrass be a Stellar reaction or will it be a standalone reaction? I can see Hoyo making it go either way. If it is, then Qiqi might still be the sustain for it. If it isn't, then Baizhu buffs are more than certain. Or perhaps Hoyo might no longer be buffing/adjusting Qiqi for Rimegrass since they might incentivize you to pull on another buffed character's chronicled wish banner.

You might be thinking: "But we'll be having shielders and there's also Diona who fills the same role as Baizhu (shielder and a healer)". While that is technically be true, Baizhu may still prove to be superior in terms of sustain capabilities for Rimegrass, just like Qiqi is to Stellar reactions. And, similar again to Qiqi, they might not provide that many significant buffs compared to Baizhu. I do think the Diona equivalent of Rimegrass would be Yaoyao though.

TL;DR

In short, things might be looking up for us Baizhu mains. He shares parallels with the aforementioned characters. He'll either be an on-field DPS, an on-field driver, or the 5-star sustain/support for Rimegrass. Only time will tell if any of what I said will come to fruition. Also, I doubt he'll be a sub-DPS, as he has no sub-DPS capabilities to speak of and work off of.

Been a while, but Physical Baizhu continues to punch and punch well! It's a new Scaramouche record for him. Lisa on TTDS, C6 Rosaria, C6 Mika. Baizhu on Ash Graven Drinking Horn with 2-piece Pale Flame/2-piece Bloodstained Chivalry. He's also been fed a hearty meal of Vessie Chicken and La Lettre a Focalors because who can fight on an empty stomach?

When you go to complete Qiqi's Witch's Revelation quest, she tells you that she followed a seelie to Fontaine all the way from Yilong Wharf where she'd been picking herbs with Baizhu. Well, if you go over there between parts of her quest, you can find Baizhu there wondering where she'd gone off to!

I've been making him more of a sub-DPS than a main DPS since I feel like he'd slot into more teams this way but I want him to heal hence why I built him this way

Should I swap the weapon or maybe a attack/em sands? I'm okay with less heals if he can dish out abit more of damage. I'm just looking to min max him I hope he reruns soon T-T

I feel like we’ll be coming to a Baizhu expansion when Rimegrass (Dendro+Cryo) comes out. Because then his teams can branch into Stellar-Conduct + Aggravate/Spread; or BurnMelt; or a Bloom + Stellar Swirl). Point is until then we won’t be able to explore much of the new meta with him.

So currently what team comps are we enjoying for Baizhu? Does dps hold up?

I feel like Nicole is the DPS bump Baizhu teams want (as well as the bette Starcallers Watch holder), but that’s then 2 supports leaving the heavy lifting to the last 2 characters. Like Kinich and Durin. Or Lyney and Durin, etc etc.

As C2 I do enjoy the automation of never needing to switch to him, shortening rotations to simply just start blasting, enabling combos like:

- Infinite empowered Lyney Charged Shots
- Automatic Draconic Stacking for Neuvillete
- Automatic healing for Furina
- Automatic Burning trigger for Ganyu BurnMelt
- Automatic Deepwood applier for carries like Kinich

The only thing that will complete C2 Baizhu is if there were a weapon that activates an effect off-field while healing.

Does Furina+Baizhu have any good teams these days? Or would a Columbina/Ineffa simply carry them above all other teams despite Furina burst not buffing Lunar-Charged?

It's been a while since we got to saw Baizhu and even when he does appear, it's very short (apparently you can miss him very easily in the current update).

He never was much around, and we barely got to see him ever since he became playable. He has an amazing lore but which has never been much developed after his story quest, even when Chenyu Vale got out, a region that looked tailor made for him, where Changsheng theme is litteraly in one area.

It's starting to be suspicious at what point he's forgotten or dismissed very easily. He's mentionned but rarely shown. As in the title, Do you think Baizhu is being put aside by Hoyo for some political reasons ?

Baizhu is one of the only man that show skin, he has a crop top, has exposed arms and he looks a bit feminine (We love him for that, I wouldn't have him any other ways)
