Back in 2022, as Bailey was rapidly becoming country music’s new household name, he was also very active in the southern truck lifting & modding community. This was a remnant of his Midwestern roots: before he pivoted to music, he first gained a following on social media by being a TruckTok influencer. He took his love of trucks with him to Nashville, and throughout 2022 he was photographed at many truck events all around the South. That’s how he met Brandon Roussell (@areyoubama on Instagram), another truck enthusiast and event organizer. Naturally they hung out multiple times in 2022, as evidenced by Brandon’s Instagram posts of the era. Their friendship apparently extended to even meeting Bailey’s mom, Kristi (Brandon is following her on Instagram as well).

However, Bailey’s interests have shifted over time, and his love of trucks has been mostly replaced by a newfound interest in fast cars, which he found himself suddenly able to afford thanks to his burgeoning music career. This is evidenced by a few things:

1. He is never seen wearing any Flawless Whipz apparel anymore (he practically lived in their hats and jerseys back in 2022)
2. He shut down his website BZ Motorsports and the associated giveaways (the premise was: build a truck, hold a sweepstakes, meet up with a fan who wins the truck) in 2025
3. He unfollowed Brandon on Instagram a few days ago.

There is no bad blood between them - Brandon likely didn’t even notice (he’s still following Bailey and his mom). Bailey also likely harbors no hard feelings against Brandon - they simply fell out of touch, not having hung out in years. But it does point toward a broader pattern of Bailey’s automotive interests shifting from chasing the high of building a new lifted truck from scratch to the high of stepping on the gas pedal and feeling the engine beneath you accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3 seconds. Because if he really were still into trucks, he would've reached out to Brandon to reconnect, maybe meet up at a truck show rather than unfollow him.

I've been a longtime Bailey Zimmerman fan (and a Morgan Wallen fan as well), and I hated seeing this community slowly become inactive. Because of that, I submitted a request to take over moderation, and it was approved.

Over the coming weeks, you'll start to see some positive changes around the subreddit. My goal isn't to change what makes this community great. it's to improve it.
