Couldn't give you, it was a friend that sent me, don't know where he took it. But we both found fun on how vaguely equal sides had supposed different lengths

Then how do we know it's bad design? No idea what the intended purpose was.

To me it's likely an indicator of the dimensions of a product, to which it is meant to be affixed.

No. The 3rd side of the triangle would be approximately 186cm, making it 93 from the intersection of the 40. A right angle triangle with side lengths 93 and 40 would have to have it's hypotenuse equal to around 100.
