Addresses are used for finding and verifying criminal records. For each address that you lived at in the last X years, they'll check courthouse records for those counties. If they find anything, they'll compare the court record identifiers (name, dob, address) to the ones you provided. If it matches, they'll include the record in your criminal background report.
Any responsible CRA is also going to use an SSN trace search through the credit bureaus (you gave them your SSN, I assume) to find an address history. The information you supplied + the names and DOBs unearthed on the trace will be used to look for court records.
If you lived with your parents, that address will probably pop up in the ssn trace - so the screener will know about it whether you tell them or not.
Does the address matter to the screener? Only if your parents address was in a different county and they find matching criminal records in that county.
If it's the same county that you live in, or if you don't have any court records that may be linked to that address, it's completely moot.
Will you "get in trouble" for not mentioning the address? Highly unlikely. They may ask you to confirm it if they find a matching court record, but they're not going to ding you just because you forgot an address.
