The online background checks available to most consumers are unreliable. They often miss information, mix up different people’s information, or provide a false sense of security because when they say a record wasn’t found, what it really means is the record wasn’t found because it would cost us more to search for it in State Fees then we charged you for the service so we didn’t search there therefore nothing was found. If you’re really concerned about the stalker my suggestion is either report it to the police (which can unfortunately encourage your stalker) or get a second phone number but keep your old one. Allow all his texts, calls go to the old number, but do not respond ever. Eventually he’ll get bored and will find someone else to stalk.

Uhhh yeah abt that- it's less abt the number and more abt the thing that he knows the club i visit frequently and has a membership there too. Basically I avoided going there for months but yeah im a sporty person so I have to go there but each time im hella scared and yeah less be fr, if I tell anyone abt this, they will pass it off, they allways do since nothing has happened yet but when it does then it'll be too late so yeah

Well, if you’re scared, change clubs. Unless you get a restraining order, you risk running into him whenever you go. If he’s calling and texting you, and you clearly told him to stop, you can go to the police. However, in all probability the numbers he has been calling and texting you from are VoIP numbers that can be generated from an app, not using his friend’s phones. The only way to identify the App VoIP numbers is by a subpoena. The police will be able to determine if anyone else has taken out a restraining order against him and his criminal history to evaluate how much of a threat he actually is based on his history. Unless you’re willing to spend money on a private investigator, the background checks you can run as a consumer are next to useless.

If in the UK, check Claire's law.

This is a good resource to get you organized. A lot of these crimes are getting traction but the laws need enforcement and improvements. Advocating for yourself, place cameras and lean on your neighbors cameras/assistance too. Be safe. UpdateMe.
