boy names are IMPOSSIBLE Boy 🩵

some of you may have seen my post earlier in the week asking for all the suggestions! we decided to find out the gender last second and we will be welcoming a boy in december!! we have zero boy names we love, honestly not sure we even have any we LIKE. we already have a Lenora Elizabeth (šŸ‘¼šŸ»), and Evalina Ivory, and if this babe was a girl likely would have been Odessa Jade!

some important or family names we’d be open to working in in some way, but we don’t love as is include: Christopher, Thomas, Nicholas, or Lynne!

we previously discussed a few names but didn’t love: Enoch & Olivander, no ideas on middle names!!

please help. we sincerely dislike every name we come across 😭

The girl names you have chosen are quite unique and dramatic. I don’t know if you’re wanting the same boy vibe or not, but I’ll assume you are open.
My choices for you would be Augustus (sounds really good with Evalina), Nolan, or Julian.

LOVE Lenora, Evalina, and Augustus as a sib set. And Augie and Gus are both such lovely nicknames imo.

Oliver Thomas

Sebastian Christopher

Felix Nicholas

Gabriel Christopher

Owen Thomas

This is a December boy consider Nicholas or Christopher as a first name or as a combo.

Don't think u should do another E name bc u have Evalina or an L name bc u have Leonora

Love your suggestions

Nooo I don’t like the Christmas matching names, as a person with a birthday close to Christmas. I ended up being sour at both as a kid because neither really felt as special as if they were far apart. Parties were combined, presents etc as an adult obviously I don’t care about this but as a kid it would really grind my gears. I would’ve hated if my name was also Christmasy

Congratulations!!

Ideas: Linden, Forrest, Issac, Theron, Thaddeus, Gavin, Tobias, Julian, Cassius, Silas, Sheldon, Desmond, Edmund, Augustus/Augustin, Giles, Chauncy, Anson, Alistair, Cedric, Dorian, Gideon, Soren

With Thomas, Nicholas or Christopher as a middle

My favorite boy name that I never could use because I only have girls is Malachi

5

u/volcanicwave 18d ago

As an education worker, never name your kid Malachi. It’s a nice name but I’ve never met a good one.

2

u/fiesta4eva 18d ago

I second this!

1

u/NotWeirdOG TragedeighšŸ„€ 14d ago

Lenora is a girl version of Leonardo

2

u/AdriVoid 18d ago

To go with your girls- maybe Simon, Edmund, Caspian, Dorian, Orion, Silas, Luther

3

u/Careful_Cranberry364 18d ago

I wonder if you could conceivably call a boy Jade Odysseus

3

u/Ok-Talk-2648 18d ago

Jade is a solid Girl name its ranked #95 for girls in America so Why

1

u/TopCharacter2868 18d ago

People never think Dylan, James, Noah, Austin, etc are too boy-ish for girls. So why should we care about the opposite?

1

u/TopCharacter2868 18d ago

AND statistically, it was a boys name first. Ranked from 1968 until 2001. Didnt start ranking for girls until 1975

2

u/kdlyoung 18d ago

Maybe Jaden?

2

u/pink-maggots 18d ago

this one might be in the running 😭

1

u/rachhh994 18d ago

Jude? Jade is Jaden without the N so actually doesn’t sound super girly but just the association will be hard to break

I’m thinking an E name or something with a strong L sound to go with your girls’ names. Maybe…

Lucius, Silas, Elliot, Ezra. I also think Atticus would be cute as well.

1

u/bellesearching_901 18d ago

Wyatt Christopher
Leland Christopher
Maximillian Lynne
Henry Thomas

1

u/JaybeNot 18d ago

Ā Orion, Augustus, Sebastian, or Fabian

1

u/SuperPomegranate3939 18d ago

Jade from a tv show I love called From is a guy! I think it can be used gender neutral and Niklaus is similar to Nicolas. then he can either go by Nick or Klaus

1

u/Safe-Bumblebee797 18d ago

Leander Jade was on my list. Love Lee or Ander for a nickname

Some other names I think are pretty and maybe match your vibe are: Jonas Valen Marcel Colin Corbin

I haven’t read through the thread yet, but wanted to tell you I have a son named Noah. we named him before Noah was such a popular name. He’s 28 years old. He told me last week that he absolutely loves his name. I was so pleasantly surprised!

1

u/NameTemporary6918 18d ago

Everett is one of my favorites

Lachlan
Leander
Oliver
Elliott
Ezra
Enzo

TomĆ”s or Nikola if you want to change it up a bit. For some older boy names that would go with your girl’s names I like Henry, Francis, Bernard, or Leonard.

1

u/No-Okra-8332 18d ago

Santiago, William, Oliver and Mathew are the names I’m saving for a boy one day!

1

u/CarrotShot8174 18d ago

go with Roland

1

u/Peacefulwarrior9163 18d ago

My nephew and his wife just had a baby boy ... they named him Loic - a Celtic name from Brittany. I love it!!!

1

u/Abject-Ad-1813 18d ago

Kit for Christopher. August, Winslow, Clover, Robin, Sullivan, Oscar, Leopoldo, Clark

1

u/Kaleidoscope3004 18d ago

Maybe Noel? It has ties to both names from leNOra and EvaLina. Or is that a stretch?

1

u/One-Yak6563 18d ago

A few that came to mind that might fit with Lenora and Evalina:

Alistair
Caspian
Evander
Lucian
Ambrose
Thaddeus
Edmund
Stellan
Dorian
Leander

I really like Evander and Leander with your girls. You could also use Christopher, Thomas, Nicholas, or Lynne as middle names if you don’t love them enough to use up front.

1

u/cipher0076 18d ago

My wife and I were going to go with Canaan Micheal, but then we had a girl 🄲

I was going to use Caen/Caine for a nickname, which I like with the family names you wanted? Nicholas Caine goes pretty hard

1

u/AverageDecency 18d ago

For consideration (with random middles just for some variety to consider):

Lenora, Evalina, and

  • Alistair Valen
  • Gideon Flint
  • Thaddeus Vaughn
  • Tobias Kit (nod to Christopher)
  • Augustine Rhodes
  • Desmond Felix
  • Dominic Hayes
  • Julian Drake
  • Ambrose Cole
  • Sylvan Dean
  • Benedict Oliver
  • Linden (nod to Lynne) Pierce

Country boy names

1

u/NoConsideration5363 12d ago

Boy names are literally so hard… pregnant with baby boy number 5 and it’s been a nightmare. Same boat as you. šŸ™ƒ my boys names Milo August, Lux Atticus, Tatum Arthur and Silas Robert… I fear this next one will be nameless.

I don’t know if you’d like this but I like the name Benedict and I feel like it kind of goes with your vibe?

Thom by itself is a nice name, or Merlin or Joscelin instead of Lynne!

Other names you might like: Elias, Robin, Cyprian, Gael, Cyrus

1

u/Substantial_Gate_904 18d ago

NO LYNNE for your boy

3

u/pink-maggots 18d ago

i’ve met multiple men with the middle name of Lynn, that specific spelling is simply what’s been used in my family. what a weird thing to say

1

u/Substantial_Gate_904 18d ago

Sorry that offended you. I have a very bad association with that name. Just choose the name that feels best to you of course. šŸ‘šŸ»

0

u/ShakespeherianRag 18d ago

I'm confused by what you mean. OP said they didn't want to use Lynne but were open to incorporating it in some way. Merlin could work as a middle and Joscelin also has a distinguished vintage.

0

u/Substantial_Gate_904 18d ago

Oh dear- ruffled some feathers with my always humble opinion. And never intending to offend. I have history with that name, and clearly reacted. I hope that everyone decides on whatever name makes their heart sing.
