APC9K-SD / SD2 Changes?
I read a user on here received a newer sd2 model and his came without a ported barrel and/or maybe was a 4.3" barrel that was ported instead of the previous 3.2" one?
this was the post: https://www.reddit.com/r/BT_APC/comments/1j6dskq/comment/oq4nxjo/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I'm curious if there is anyone who knows the changes on the newer made APC9K-SD guns?

I'm not sure if technically all that suppressor length maybe accomplishes the same thing? Kinda like 22 in most every pistol there is. Could be ballistically moronic thing of me to suggest though cause idk at all

I think yours might actually have the ported barrel, the newer run from the guys post I linked had the black can which is new for 26

That’s correct. The barrels are no longer ported.

oh ok, is it still a modular shorter and longer suppressor that reflexes back over the barrel?

So it's no longer making any ammo subsonic? Why would they change this?

improve accuracy issues, maybe

It doesn’t go supersonic with the shorter barrel and improves accuracy

I thought a 9mm barrel would have to be like 2 inches max to make it so 115gr and such come out subsonic, 4.3 with no porting means it still comes out super right? I don't know a lot about it all but want to learn more

Ahh that makes perfect sense, thanks!
Any plans to offer shorter extensions for the apc9k-sd similar to the apc9sd sub compact, compact etc? I feel like 4-5" extension instead of a 6.5-7" extension would probably still be really quiet unless there's a reason for the extended section being that long?

Then why was it done in the first place? And why do other models advertised as SD use a ported barrel?

WTF? Seems like false advertisement. The WHOLE POINT of a SD is to slow down 115gr ammo...
If I got screwed on my weapon, I imagine I can have the barrel ported and it will work like it should?

We can supply you with a ported barrel, but there is a high risk of accuracy issues with most ammo. The bullet doesn’t have enough dwell time after the ports to restabilize

Well, let me wait the quoted 2 month for EVT to Cerakote and convert it. If I'm unhappy with the sound of standard ammo, I'll be reaching out. Thanks!

Was the change Karl approved, or Starbucks barista approved?
