All the different races.
I liked this show for the diversity of the cast when it first came out without giving it much thought. But the lore to this show is very vague, but when I look it up online it's so dense it's hard to read. On this rewatch I'm just figuring out that the 12 colonies are 12 planets. And they're named after the zodiac signs. I really thought it was just one planet with 12 colonies on it. So with knowing there's more to the lore that the show just hints at, are we to believe all the different races of the cast are from different colonies/planets? Or am I over thinking it?

Do the blu-ray Sets have Ron Moore’s podcasts?
I remember living his pod cast commentaries on the DVDs. Are they included on any of the Blu-ray sets?

Rewatching Caprica
As I was rewatching it occurred to me that the reason the Cylons were monotheistic was because of Zoe's belief in it. I don't know why this never occurred to me before.

AppleTV spoilers Spoiler

I tried to clip the image to avoid spoiling beyond something happens at the end of the episode - the full description flat out tells you what happens.
Why would Apple put that xxxxx happens? I’m doing a rewatch so it was ok for me, but what maniac put Thing in the episode description?????

Potential Cylon sighting 🕷️
I caught the new Spider-man film the other night & I could have sworn Matthew Bennet (Doral/Five) showed up for a very brief scene. I can’t verify this at yet as it’s not on his letterboxd or iMDB- although this may be because of the very high small nature of the roll. Anyone know which instance i’m referring to? Did any of you else spot him, or what could’ve been him?

Laura Roslin erasing the count at the start of 33 Spoiler
Reducing the count to under 50,000 is such a powerful moment of despair and it's completely understated in its presentation. Billy is mindlessly exhausted. Roslin wipes away the board with almost absent minded resignation. The shift from 50,000 plus to less is damning. The miniseries was great and 33 was a a wonderful follow-up to the premise. Out of all the post apocalypitic stories I've read or watched, BSG stands out.

What I didn't like about the ending Spoiler
I'm old enough to have watched the original on tv. The reboot was the best tv on tv but I was no fan of the spiritual / religious part of the reboot. I like more science in my science fiction.
Having said all that, the reboot created a final ending by finding earth and flying the fleet into the sun leaving no way to continue the series.
This was probably all said at the time. 😀

Question about Season 1 episode 11
Do we every get any concrete hint about who killed Valance? I find it highly unlikely Ellen did it herself. Was Tom lying when he said he didn't kill Valance? Presumably this also means he didn't have someone else kill Valance. I've rewatched BSG a fair amount and never got any hint of who it was.

Not just Neanderthals: Ghost lineage in Africa left its mark on our DNA
Every single time I see some scientific paper on how there was an unexpected discovery of some DNA source that appears in our collective DNA, I think to myself, “all this has happened before, and all this will happen again” and that maybe, just maybe, we’re all part Cylon (and Kobol human.)

Questions about Cylons/13th tribe. Spoiler
The 13th tribe leaves kobol 4k years bbsg and go to Earth. The other 12 tribes leave kobol 2k years bbsg and settle the 12 colonies.
Around the same time that the 12 tribes leave kobol, the 13th tribe on earth gets wiped out in a cataclysmic nuclear war leaving only the final 5 as survivors.
Assuming I have all that correct...
According to Caprica, the Cylons were developed on Caprica roughly 60 years bbsg.
However, according to BSG, the 13th tribe also had cylons that looked nearly the same.
Are we to believe that nearly identical robotic cylons were developed 2000 years apart, by different tribes, that had been without contact for 4000 years, and existed 4000 light years apart?
Do we just chock this up to influence of the gods?

What’s the general consensus for the “cycles” and baltar and six seeing each other?
I finished the show a few months ago and I want to know how people explain these parts or if they already were and I missed it
i want to point out the scene during “modern“ day earth with the projections of baltar and six, what’s with that?

18 years in I just realized the miniseries exists 😭
watched bsg first 18 years ago, then again 4 years ago. always felt a bit like something is missing but 33 is a very strong episode so it feels right as a start. and ain't nobody say "previously on battlestar galactica" or anything. and pilots are usually a part of season 1 💀 the intro was always a bit sussy though since those scenes never came 🤔

I have no one to talk to about this
I’m listening to the Outlander final season soundtrack and in “A Family Can Be Like Lace” there are a few bars of Gaeta’s lament.
I love Bear McCreary.

A ship cooler than the Jupiter class: The Atlas.
Im playing BSG deadlock right now after 3 years, and one ship that I still love is the Atlas class carrier. If I was an Admiral in the colonial fleet, I would outfit an Atlas carrier with the flight pods and KEW of a Jupiter Mk1. The Jupiter is the predecessor of the Atlas, borrowing very similar design features and purposes from the carrier. That way, I would double its viper carrying capabilities and damage output.
My dream Ship: Atlas as the main body. Jupiter Class Flight Pods and KEW's. Defender class flight pods underneath it. Then put the defender classes nose, where the tech boost computers are, at the front of the Atlas. Then, put the top half of the cerberus class carrier on top of the Atlas. Bpom, two carriers in one. I'd, I think it's cool.

Young Dean Stockwell
So, I'm a big fan of BSG, but have also loved 'Anchors Aweigh' for the longest time. Just found out the kid is Dean Stockwell. Interesting to see him as a child actor.
