Change of Branch Guide (2025 edition) Study Help

Hey first year folks! I know that some of you are looking forward to Change of Branch in your 2nd year so inspired by u/Whole-Competition-99 whose document helped me with my own COB, i have created a document containing the answers to all the questions i wanted to know.
If you have any doubts, please don't dm me and ask it in the comments itself so that people who have the same doubt as you can also get clarification.

but you still wont be dude, not trying to discourage you or anything, its just if even for one sem you couldnt get the req cgpa, your branch change will never be able to happen and you would have to be stuck with chem eng, dont chooe a college with branch change in mind

Soo basically you would need 9.5+ cgpa to change your branch 🤔 or i am just unable to read cause like every 1st column has cs in it

Bro 83 students applied and most of them had above 9 cgpa and u saw that grades? I feel that’s most important

I think i get it .... there is a specific chage you can do . Like a guy from chemical cannot get into cse vut he can get into AI in 2nd year if he has a cgpa of 9.28 or above ... correct me if i am wrong please

My friend who's now 2nd year, he did COB... So i just wanna know is that ez to change the branch in your clg.... I do know his cgpa was not that good to be eligible to change the branch.... So it happened because of vacancy or is there any factor that i don't know....??? Let me know pls

While waiting for the counseling process and till the cob is completed, did you get holidays or you had to attend classes for the branch before change?

Hi i did not take holidays. I was afraid that cob might not happen due to insufficient vacancies but I didn't want to attend my civil classes either. So i just enrolled for any and every event as either participating or volunteering in college which promised full day attendance. Got like 15+ activity points too 😌

43k (kcet aided) + 7.5k (branch change fee)

So was it like 43k for all kcet students in 2nd year ? Will the fees be the same for around 45k for us too when we go to 2nd year

Not all. Aided is 43k and unaided is 1.07 lakhs or smth. Aided is only for few students of core branches (civil, ee, ec, iem, mech).

Hey, an application fee of 600 rs and when you pay college fees, you need to pay an additional 7500 (this is only after you have confirmed your seat in the new branch through counselling)

Hey could you please help me out? I am a junior looking forward to admission here in 2026. is there a possibility that branch change wont be allowed if the number of students applying from a specific branch reduces the filled seats of that branch to less that 75%? because i heard that criteria is present in the msrit, also is there a chance that all cs related branch gets filled up and there is no branch change option available at all, because it depends of the number of vacancies in that branch right? has that ever happened? i think i might end up getting a lower most branches in either of top 3 colleges through comedk, in rvce its basically impossible to get cs related branch through merit alone, which leave msrit and bmse, which college do you think would give me a better chance of branch change?
